Superior Slayer

  1. 1. Should we make superior versions for all/most non boss slayer tasks?

  2. 2. Should the superiors drop tables me modified as described in this post?

  3. 3. Should superiors be cheaper to unlock to open them up to newer players?

Currently our superior slayer system is a little underwhelming and seems unfinished.

At the moment you spend 1k slayer points on a tome to unlock the chance to spawn superiors. Superiors are aparantly a 1 in 50 spawn rate on task only, and the superiors themselves have an odd drop table. Which are 3 x the amount of the regular versions drop table plus a few unique drops listed below;

  • 10-15 slayer teleports [1 in 100]
  • Imbued heart [1 in 100]
  • Twisted heart [1 in 100]
  • Sack of riches [1 in 100]
  • Epic bonus chest [1 in 100]
  • Imbuing stone [1 in 100]

Judging by the rates, you'd have to kill 5000 slayer creatures on task to hit the drop rate for a rare, and the only decent one is the imbuing stone.

It's just a very boring superior slayer system, there really isn't any reason to unlock them and no reason at all to camp superior tasks.

There is also a very limited variety of superiors;

  • Abyssal demon
  • Dark beast
  • Cave horror
  • Kurask
  • Nechryael

This limited amount of superiors makes them even rarer.

So here are my suggestions.

  1. Create superior slayer versions for most/all slayer tasks, except for boss tasks.
  2. Modify the drop tables for superiors.
    Instead of just 3 x the normal drop table, spice it up, add in some new items and change the rates for the rare items based on the combat or slayer level of the superior and have things like slayer teleport scrolls and bonus boxes as 100% or 1 in 2 drops.
  3. Make the cost to unlock them lower, like 300 points or so.  [Allow the old tome to be sold for 700 points and the new tome]

Thanks for this!

We'd love to improve Superior Slayer, much like the way you've described.

Hopefully you'll get to see some expansions implemented in the near future.

Thanks,
Ryan
