Ralph 208 Posted June 26, 2018 The Chambers of Xeric General information Chambers of Xeric (Raids 1) is a type of boss gauntlet where you run through and kill 3 demi-bosses before squaring up to the Great Olm. Most of the rewards are best in slot armor or weapons, making Raids very profitable if you manage to get those items. The rare drop table is as follows Spoiler Vespula Twisted buckler (1/750) Vespine shortbow (1/1,000) Vespula pet (1/1,000) Vanguards Molten gauntlets (1/1,000) Molten boots (1/1,000) Pet vanguard (1/1,000) Tekton Uncut onyx (1/50) Elder maul (1/500) Tekton pet (1/1,000) Vasa Nistirio Ancestral hat (1/750) Ancestral robe top (1/750) Ancestral robe bottom (1/750) Vasa nistirio pet (1/1,000) Muttadile Dragon Claws (1/600) Muttadile pet (1/1,000) Great Olm's chest (drop rates unreleased) Uncut onyx 10x bags of riches 3x bags of tokens Task bottle Master task bottle Dragon Hunter Crossbow Dragon Harpoon Dinh's Bulwark Ancestral hat Ancestral robe top Ancestral robe bottom Draconic shard (helmet) Draconic lump (platebody) Draconic chunk (platelegs) Molten gauntlets Molten boots Scroll of rigour Scroll of augury Ancient relic Twisted Buckler Vespine shortbow Elder maul Kodai wand Twisted bow Olm pet When you first begin to raid, you will start out on "Normal" difficulty. As you do more raids more difficulties will become available, as they are unlocked with your raids count. Gear and Inventory Setup Personally when I raid I use this setup: I know this gear is close to best in slot and it's hard to decide what to bring just seeing this. So allow me to break down the gear a little bit. Gear setup There are two approaches to what gear to bring to raids. One option is to bring tribrid gear, and another is to bring just mage and melee. Mage is almost a requirement, as you will need multi-combat spells such as blood barrage. If you have decent enough ranged gear, you might want to try the tribrid approach. I only recommend going mage/melee if you don't have good range gear. I will try my best to include the majority of decent gear setups, but of course I will not be able to list every single item. Spoiler Magic gear Welfare (A couple hundred mil) Head: Ahrim's hood Body: Ahrim's robetop Legs: Ahrim's robeskirt Weapon: Ahrim's staff Off-hand: Mage's book Cape: Zamorak/Saradomin/Guthix Cape Necklace: Amulet of the damned/Amulet of the damned (t) Gloves: Barrows gloves Boots: Infinity boots Ring: Seers ring Arrow slot: Ancient blessing Mid level (A couple bil) Head: Fused slayer helm/Master chompy hat Body: Nardah robe top/Cursed robetop Legs: Nardah robe bottom/Cursed robe bottoms Weapon: Master wand Off-hand: Book of infinty Cape: Frozen cape Necklace: Cursed necklace Gloves: Tormented bracelet Boots: Arcan boots Ring: Ring of darkness Arrow slot: Ancient blessing End game (Best in slot gear) Head: Frost slayer helm Body: Ancestral robe top Legs: Ancestral robe bottoms Weapon: Kodai wand Off-hand: Book of chaos Cape: Zamorak/Saradomin/Guthix cape (i) Necklace: Arcane stream necklace Gloves: Tormented bracelet Boots: Molten boots Ring: Thermonuclear ring (i) Arrow slot: Chaos belssing Melee gear Welfare (A couple hundred mil) Head: Helm of neitiznot Body: Fighter's torso (i)/(e) Legs: Corrupted platelegs Weapon: Kharazi spear (e) Off-hand: N/A Cape: Fire cape/Tokhaar-kal/Inferno cape Necklace: Amulet of fury Gloves: Karamja gloves 3 (provides +15% damage to spears) Boots: Dragon boots Ring: Berserker ring (i) Arrow slot: N/A Mid level (A couple bil) Head: Melee slayer helm/Fused slayer helmet Body: Cursed platebody Legs: Cursed platelegs Weapon: Cursed blade/Kharazi spear (e) Off-hand: Dragon defender (t) Cape: Fire cape/Tokhaar-kal/Infernal cape Necklace: Amulet of torture Gloves: Penance gloves/Karamja gloves 3 Boots: Primordial boots Ring: Cursed ring (i) Arrow slot: War blessing End game (Best in slot gear) Head: Frost slayer helm/Lava slayer helm Body: Draconic platebody Legs: Draconic platelegs Weapon: Elder maul Off-hand: N/A Cape: Meteorite cape/Grand max cape Necklace: Amulet of torture (or) Gloves: Molten gauntlets Boots: Molten boots Ring: Ring of war Arrow slot: War blessing Range gear Welfare (A couple hundred mil) N/A Mid level (A couple bil) Head: Molten chompy hat Body: Kharazi leathertop Legs: Kharazi chaps Weapon: Zamorak bow Off-hand: N/A Cape: Ava's accumulator (t) Necklace: Amulet of nardah Gloves: Karamja gloves 3 Boots: Zamorak d'hide boots Ring: Unholy ring Arrow slot: Rune/Amethyst arrows End game (Best in slot gear) Head: Lava chompy hat Body: Armadyl chestplate Legs: Armadyl plateskirt Weapon: Twisted bow Off-hand: N/A Cape: Vorkath max cape Necklace: Sanguinesti pendant Gloves: Molten gauntlets Boots: Molten boots Ring: Ring of Law Arrow slot: Dragon arrows Gear to "camp" Since raids is a difficult boss gauntlet, you can't just bring all gear and no supplies. Personally, instead of bringing along an amulet switch, I just keep the Lava pendant on throughout the raid. A Lava pendant has decent tribrid stats, so in my opinion, you don't need to bring along another amulet for other styles. Another good item to bring along (especially if you're using a Kharazi spear (e) on Tekton) is Karamja gloves 3. They provide decent tribrid stats as well as the boost to spear damage. If you have access to it, a Max cape (or it's variants) is great to bring along. It provides good tribrid stats, a stat boosting effect, and all of the skill cape perks (Ex. it acts as an Ava's device for arrows). For the helmet slot, bringing along a Fused slayer helmet, Frost slayer helm, Lava slayer helm, Master chompy hat, Molten chompy hat, Lava chompy hat, or Frost chompy hat, will be very beneficial because you won't need to bring helmet switches, as the majority of these helmets provide good bonuses in either two or three combat styles. Alternatively bringing along a Serpentine/Tanzanite/Magma/Viper helmet would work as well since you wouldn't need to worry about bringing along an anti-venom potion for olm. Ring wise, bringing along a ring like a Crystal ring, Lava ring, or Cursed ring (i) would be beneficial as these all provide good boosts in multiple combat styles. Bringing a full set of Void armor/Elite void armor is great if you need a lot of supplies, as the only extra gear you'd need to bring is the helmet switches, weapon switches, and accessories like rings, necklace, etc. Inventory Setup Some form of fire protection The Great Olm is a big ol' dragon, meaning you need some sort of fire protection. Most of the best weapons to use on the Great Olm are two handed, meaning you'll need a Lava pendant. Alternatively you could use a Cursed blade + Dragonfire shield combination or a crossbow + Dragonfire shield combination. Some form of venom protection The Great Olm will venom you with any attack he hits you with. To make the final boss of raids much easier, bring along an anti-venom potion, or a Serpentine/Tanzanite/Magma/Viper helmet. Note: The Serpentine type helms will apply venom to the Servant spirit as well as the Great Olm. Blood barrage runes (Death, Blood, and Soul)/Catalytic rune pouch Blood barrage runes are essential for easy raiding. Blood barrage will be used on Vanguards, Vespula, and optionally the Servant spirit that protects the Great Olm. Plenty of Prayer potions/flasks, Saradomin brews, Super restores, and high level food. Do I even need to explain why to bring these items? The quantities will need to be worked out by yourself, it's hard to put a certain number on how many to bring unless you test it with your own gear and adjust as you become a better raider. Stat boosting items (Ranging potion, Magic potion, Imbued heart, Twisted heart, Infernal heart, Enchanted heart, Max cape) Bringing these items aren't necessary but they obviously help with faster raids because you will be dealing a lot more damage. Luck based items (optional) Bringing along a Ring of wealth (i) and a Legendary luck pet, is entirely optional, as these items will only work on the demi-bosses. Note: Luck and Epic luck tokens will not work on the demi-bosses Boss Breakdowns Bosses are arranged in no particular order. A video about the skilling room is also included. IscapeBaked 1 Posted June 26, 2018 pretty good guide so far, maybe after this since you are already mostly making it for this guide, you could make a seperate guide on armour setup tiers. would be nice to have a guide of upgrades instead of just the existing best in slot guide. (ie - your welfare, mid, and max gear setups in the guide)
Tilted 8 Posted June 26, 2018 completely amazing! great work ralph cant wait to see future guides!

Coping 1 Posted June 28, 2018 Yup adding a gear guide that shows other possibilities as stated above (welfare etc) will make the guide pretty much top notch. Love it
twitch 92 Posted June 28, 2018 Yea i agree, great guide so far, adding gear possibilities would be cool for people in the game that do not have crazy gear.
ironman can 20 Posted June 28, 2018 Tbh this is not really a guide.. Its supposed to be "solo raids guide" but only shows gear. Have you actually soloed raids in that welfare gear without dying?. You should add info bout all the bosses and how to kill them if this is supposed to be guide instead of whats best gear for raids.

Obviously doing a raid with complete welfare gear would be very hard to solo, maybe even impossible (I will however try to complete a raid in the most welfare gear I can). I changed the title of the raids guide to "In-depth Raids Guide" because I don't think that it would be efficient to solo raids in welfare gear. You could still run raids with the welfare gear of course, just maybe not solo.

I don't think it's necessary to do with welfare gear because you should be fighting other bosses first IMO. If you wanted to challenge yourself i think that fine as well but it's more important to know the mechanics of the bosses not what is possible love the guide will be doing it in the future. I said that because the name of the guide was how to solo raids... and it was showing welfare gear, which implies you can solo raids in that gear.

sarcothis 20 Posted July 7, 2019 Hey @Ralph, this guide is great and helped me a lot starting out, but your Vanguard technique can be made a lot easier by choosing a different spot to walk to - The spot almost in a straight line from the door, but a few steps towards the exit (where the lava is moved back an additional tile) is a spot that you can immediately go to and all of the vanguards will stack up 100% of the time, so you don't have to move multiple times. picture since it's hard to describe: http://prntscr.com/oblkc1 those tiles (or atleast the two closer to where you're standing, i didnt try the further ones) work easier for getting them all to group up.
