What you guys want to see.

Currently a lot of players have been talking about things they'd like to see in runex on the discord. I'd like to take a minute to get everyone's responses in a better manner.

Going through each discord message is rather time consuming, so I'd like you guys to each write 5 things you'd like to see either changed or added to runex.

If a player see's a above response is something they like, please feel free to add it to your list. I plan on taking everyone's response(within reason, if its a joke... it won't get added... something along the lines of "remove wilderness cuz bad" won't be added to our list)

 

Some examples would be....

-minigame updates

-Nightmare changes

-Adding content like the gauntlet

-Changing gwd.

-Raid's update.

 

 

So if you could. Take a few minutes out of your time, and give me a real response. What I am doing, is trying to more or less make a roadmap for the future of runex.

First of all, awesome initiative. 

This is my list, 1 being most important and 5 being least (My opinion)

1. Nightmare Changes - Buff to drop table for The Nightmare, maybe bring crush back to scythe. I think Night Terror should not be touched.
2. Gwd Changes - I see no issue with superiors except maybe how useless the armours are. I also see no issue with how difficult certain rooms are.  They just don't feel as rewarding as when they had gcp pieces. Due to reset nerfs and how hard it is to afk, I believe gcp pieces have the place to be added back to gwd.

3. New content to Kharazi - Personally, I don't really have specific content i want to see, it just feels like dead content after spear, tome and blast mining.

4. Update of skilling task and task scrolls - I might be wrong but I don't believe that these too were ever updated since release. Regarding skilling tasks, a task for every skill could be implemented. Skilling tasks are rewarding due to the Tomes and the urns for rc. Task scrolls, rewards are fine imo, just maybe some addition of new item reqs/tasks. 

5. Buff to most collection log rewards - Some collection log rewards are absurd. Most ridiculous ones would be Larran's Chest and Cursed Caskets.

This might not appeal to everyone but for me the more bosses the better

- Grotesque Guardians

- Sarachnis (just an idea example, add something like a cudgel handle that adds more attack bonus or something)

- Zalcano

-  Allow pets to roam in POH, maybe max it too 10 pets at a time you can select?

- Darkmeyer Agility course, it's different to just running a rooftop and can recolor graceful to black.

I know the first 3 bosses don't offer a lot in terms of drops but maybe you could add unique drops to them to make people want to do them even more.

I guess I should probably add my list on here as well.

 

- A dungeoneering style minigame. Similar to the rs3 skill, but it would be purely a minigame that a few people can do together.

- New superior bosses

- Update to the mage arena shop

- Reworking some of our "dead content" items to fit into a meta. (Examples). Elder maul, crossbows, korasi, lava/frost scims, sara/guthix bows, 

- Godwars.

Really good post, +1 to sock idea, 

Like nightmare need change for sure its not worth to do at all in my humble opinion unless u are going for comp.

Would be nice if u could get gpcs in gwd again that would make supperior gwd grind a bit less afking and worth.

For new content zulcano would be nice for ez 200M :P together with gauntlelt for some new rare rewards

and at last chance rate succes on imbuing crystals that would bring alot more people back to game to grind end game gear (im over 15 rolls dry) for atleast 20% still would be rare but not that much

But i really love this server ;)

As i've suggested to Raw before, something similar to the roaming blood revenants on SPK for runex wilderness. Spread out the players in the wilderness rather than having a few set of locations that have content to them and the rest of the wilderness being barren. Perhaps give them a rare drop to enchant some weaponry that has become dead content to encourage gear variety. Possible weapons could be infernal tentacle, trident of the swamps, zaryte bow, elder maul, any of the ornament godswords, korasi...

Nightmare obviously.

Rework of some of the newer achievements or even an entire rework for comp requirements.

In no particular order:

1. add more weapon variety to raids through the raids pets. The pets should have a special effect for its respective room. An example of this could be giving the Vasa pet a 25% magic damage boost in that room. That way you may be better off actually using magic gear there which we commonly wouldn’t see. 
 

2. changes to the collection logs. For example, the rewards for the Larran’s chest log and crystal chest log is a joke. And the amount of collection log points could use a refresh in my opinion. I believe the Zulrah log is only 4 points but should be quite a bit more.

3. BUFF CROSSBOWS. The potential is there due to the effects of darkroot and variety of crossbows already in game. The ability of the abyssal crossbow using ruby bolts (e) with darkroot could be an amazing pvm weapon if the crossbow was just buffed in general. 
 

4. A total reworking of the combat system in PVP and more wilderness content could be the change that brings in more players in my opinion. Some examples could be something similar to SPK’s blood revenants which are all over the wildy. And as Drugs has suggested recently, give some weapons the ability to turn off the damage soak ability of divine or ely. Rather than introduce new weapons, give current weapons this special ability. The best example would be the cursed blade.

5. lastly, I have an issue with the current event system. I get the sense that the owners/developers work very hard to release a seasonal event which is often accompanied with more content. However, it feels as though once they finish this large project, they move away from Runex or start thinking about the next event. I understand events are very good for encouraging donations and bringing in new players; however, they can also be very damaging to the eco as we have seen. I would much rather only have 2 events year round. And as a replacement of the events, we simply get more frequent updates. 
 

Added suggestions:

6. Give some of the raids weapons a buff for their respective raid. Obviously Scythe, Tbow, and Sang staff are already great in raids. However, I think vespine shortbow, elder maul, and even dragon claws should be given a big bonus for COX only. Additionally, give Ghrazi rapier a buff for TOB. 

7. Give the armors acquired from the Superior GWD bosses a unique ability. Not necessarily just a damage boost, rather a more interesting special ability which might make it more attractive in some situations than crestbearer or crestroot. Admittedly I haven't given this one much thought but would love to hear some input on realistic abilities that could be given to the armors. 

TL;DR: I want to see our current weapons and items be buffed and given new abilities in order to promote more weapon variety.

1. New staff members and a general change to the way in which 'Server Supports' are treated. The staff team has at times been a little club of friends, and this has brought about a lot of underlying issues. Being friends as staff isn't a huge issue, but when you are all friends beforehand and then all get staff you tend to bring in the same mindset, and their is less room for debate or disagreement on things like punishments and rule changes and even things like potential reports of staff abuse are seen/felt more personal than they should be. There is also the fear that if 80% of the staff team are friends and one leaves, another might leave, and then 2 more and then all 5 are gone in a short period leaving a huge gap. 
None of this is directed at any current staff, as I don't even play at the minute, but it had been an issue for years. 
Server supports should be 2 week trials for any players that apply and meet the criteria for staff, because no-one know how someone will act as a staff member compared to a general player. I voted against many players that turned out to be good staff simply because they didn't feel like staff material while they were a player. 
Everyone should get a chance and we would see a larger and more diverse staff team. 

2. Events need to be toned down dramatically. I quit during every event because they are so overpowered, I can't play a relaxing RSPS if every waking minute I feel like I need to click 10000 winter imps because that's the fastest way to progress any account, main, iron, uim, hcim, gim. The events are a great way to get new players and a lot of the community enjoys them, but they are destroying our economy and we need to find a method to make them fun and attractive to new players without the drawbacks we currently have. 

3. QoL updates.   This is a hard one to talk about, because everyone seems to want QoL at the moment, but the last time we had an actual 100% QoL update, soooo many people bitched that there was no new content to enjoy. So it's hard to tell the developers what to do when they cop shit regardless of what they do for us. What we really need is some consistency, we don't need a huge content drop once a month, we need a specific day, be it weekly or bi-weekly, that whatever is ready gets released. Too often we have a 2-4 week delay on an update because of 1 thing we can't get quite right. So just release everything else and fix that issue for new week. 

4. Discord bot integration. It may seem small, but having some fun bots for the community in the discord keeps our players around even when they are not playing Runex. Let's get that OSbot action rolling. 

5. Voting Rewards. Runex has some of the most disappointing voting rewards of any RSPS. Chuck a simple donor mystery casket in the daily reward (Caskets are the lowest tier) or even a custom voting mystery box. People loooove these RNG boxes for that chance at bank loot. There are some servers I don't even play anymore, but I still vote on them every few days to make a load of money and get a bit of dopamine opening boxes, Runex is unfortunately not one of them.

A few necessary changes:

Fix Cursed Caverns Walls - As it is right now, no one really record while playing and MULTIPLE staff members and regular players alike have and are using this bug to their advantage. They should not be able to cast any magic through walls, if your excuse is "its magic" Then why doesn't magic cast through trees? Just please fix this.

Change the loot on the dailies or change the dailies in general maybe a flux of which dailies are available? To do the same dailies over and over and over gets a bit tired after a while.

KharazI - I was thinking about a way you guys could fix this one. My example would be to have kharazi be a monthly reset IE. All your items on the island after one month will be taken off the island and put into a coffer, (Coffer big enough to store all items on kharazi) This would change the minigame drastically and new players would now have a chance to those camping in max gear already. I myself will not go into kharazi until a needed update is brought forward.

Staff- Currently there are little staff in certain timezones AND PLAYERS KNOW THAT. (I've seen macroing, abuse of bugs, flamebaiting, spamming) All because you guys do not have staff on all timezones. We understand the staff aren't getting paid crazy and its more of a at will position. But you guys need to start facing the facts that if we do not get some staff at all timezones players will eventually quit (Player still logged in staff aren't online) (Scams) Etc.

Events - This will not be for everyone, but I think event chests should NOT be doable more than 1 - 2 times per event, or remove the chest all together and have an actual minigame where we can only complete it once. It would make it an event and not a eco fuck. (This even alone has brought over $50,000 into the game not including items.

Developers - Ryan you are way to busy to manage both SPK and Runex, We all feel that we are left to rot while SPK gets all the of the updates and QOL changes, If you need to get someone else to run this server please do, not to say you aren't doing amazing, but I think you need to not be spread so thin. We understand SPK makes you more money, and that it's your main priority, but don't lose out on good players just because you only see one form of cash right now. Please I beg of you, find someone else to run RuneX or promote a developer.

Hey all, some personal ideas that I think would make great updates/QoLs:

1) Collection log rewards; I, among many, think that some of the rewards for completing a log are a slap in the face. Two great examples of this are crystal chest and cursed caskets. 3k+ opened chests to complete log, just to get a few epic keys in return, and I'm approaching 2.5k~ on caskets to get a measly 5 caskets for completing the log. I feel like for the time and rng needed to complete these logs, the rewards could be improved to something like an mchest+grand key for the crystal chest and maybe a grand cursed chest for the casket rewards. Again, this is just 2 examples, but we could take a look at all the rewards and see what could be improved. 

2) Gwd; this horse has been beaten enough, so I'll keep it short: rebalance the minions/add gcp's back into the droptable but with higher rates (should be fine with afk timer now)/ make ecu keys stackable/add ornamental godswords to superior drop table to make the bosses more lucrative(hella rc). 

3) Big content updates like wintertodt, hespori, hallowed sepulchre, or custom ones like superior revs would be neat (not all at once obv but to see them being put in the game would be neat).

First of all I'm going to provide pushback against people asking for weaker events; I would say instead to have it so you can complete them a fixed number of times and to have the number of lesser rewards lowered, because an event that's not super good is significantly less exciting to complete.

 

Secondly: A LOT of skills need updates to be relevant other than a chore for 99/200m all:

 

Construction: Only a handful of things matter (elixir pools, GAltar, portals; storage for weirdos like me who like to complete checklists). A minigame along the lines of Mahogany Homes would at least give a small reason to give a damn about the skill, or maybe furniture that gives very small passive effects (I'm talking single digits accuracy bonus or single percent BASE experience bonus kinds of small).

 

Herblore: There should be more custom pots that don't drop from bosses, like a super combat that doesn't drain over time (similar to overload effect, but not stronger than Super Combat boosts) or skilling potions.

 

Crafting/Fletching/Smithing: Similar to potions, but this idea comes more from World of Warcraft; in WoW, with the armor crafting skills, you can make armor kits that provide very small bonuses to your armor value per piece. Now, this would get OP very quickly if permanent, so I'm thinking something more along the lines of a temporary boost that uses a new resource (to prevent too many from flooding into the game) from farming/woodcutting/mining, respectively.

 

Hunter: Birdhouses would be nice tbh

 

Mining: It's the worst skill in the game. Motherlode Mine would be fantastic, as well as a new mine for resources for the aforementioned weapon/armor maintenance kits.

 

Fishing: Anglerfish really shouldn't be exclusive to CoX and the Legendary Zone. I don't even understand the purpose of that.

 

Farming: Tree farming would be very good, as well as allotments used to create (cross)bow maintenance kits. The farming guild plot that lets you plant world-buffing flowers would be really cool, especially if they were things that affected the whole server (only one at a time, with a significant cooldown on an individual planting to prevent griefing) like a +3% drop rate bonus or a +5% base experience bonus (numbers are just examples).

 

Summoning: As far as I'm aware, it's useless with epic pets. Either allow certain accessories (luck, prayer, restoration; anything that doesn't increase DPS directly) or create some very powerful custom summons to actually rival epic pets.

1) Buff Twisted Bow, make it BIS is some other places (not only COX). Atm Tbow is mainly used only at COX, in my opinion it should be buffed in other places and be more powerful than Brimstone Bow, look at Scythe for example its pretty much BIS everywhere (places you use melee), almost everywhere out damages Brimstone Hammer, so in my opinion Twisted Bow should be better at certain places that Brimstone Bow, consider difficulty of getting it.

2) Make Chambers of Xerics harder, not afkable. Atm people do COX so they could afk and do other stuff, in my opinion raids should high-end content and not afkable. Best solution would be adding mechanics to Olm, like crystal spawning under you, portal phase, lighting (pretty much like OSRS). After making COX more challenging make items more common, its not rare occurrence people going 200+ NORMAL cox dry, I heard there's some cases of people going 350+ dry or even 700+, even tho its NORMAL mode it shouldnt be that hard to get chest drop. If drop rate increased, remove items from mini-bosses (tekton, mutta, etc...).

3) Decrease amount of crest cloth needed to upgrade Ancestral. In my opinion right now its too big of a grind to get Ancrestal even tho Crestroot/Crestbearer and Ancrestal Tiers are the same, but Crestroot/Crestbearer are MUCH easier to obtain.

4) Add more ways to obtain Zenytes, not only gorillas. Superior bosses having 1/25 Zenytes, Nightmare 1/75 Zenyte and maybe some other places (can't think of any ATM).

5) Add Collection Log for Skilling urns?

1. events are meant to be a break from normal game play giving us something new to do for a few weeks to break up the grind of the game so make them that limited content that has nothing to do with normal fame play

2. collection log rewards need to be better worth the time it takes to do it

3. fix the things you know dont work the way they where meant to

4. update the zones make them worth using and put in better things to spend the tokens on 

5. make a place on discord for pk banter so they can talk to each other but the rest of is do not have to see it

6. make a place for everything in poh when you add a new item make a place for it

-GWD either being reverted to difficulty it used to be or crest pieces being added back to the loot pool.

-Slayer only Mole instances. If there are enough people farming it, impossible to do slayer tasks. (Don't remember how much damage you need to get the kill to be fair on this one)

-Farming guild/Motherload mine type content to bring more variety to skilling.

-Bit more stuff in Max/Achievement guilds.

-Getting the donor tokens from fishing/woodcutting in dzone and some kind of donor box in ezone shop.

That's about all I can think of that doesn't involve 'wilderness bad'. Could offer some kind of pvp immunity suggestion but let's be real. Not happening.

I do feel Ryan and Nate need to take a month or two and not put any new content into RuneX and focus on QOLs. Along with going through previous updates, nerfs &, buffs. They could poll the community on each different set of nerfs or buffs, see where they sit and if they had the intended effects and possibly change them if they did not.

 

  • Nightmare update first probably though since that was supposed to come out back on December 9th and a lot of players have been waiting on that.

 

  • A Change to GWD would be fantastic such as:

GCP 1 = 1/250 chance
GCP 2 = 1/275
GCP 3 =1/250

those are double the rates + 25  that they are on sire, hydra, zulrah

 

  • Removing More Junk from COX tables. As it is Master TOBs are amazing for loot. Master COX are pointless and its better to spam Normal runs. Also add Blunt Tips back to their drop table

 

  • Fixing all bugs within RuneX. (I have a hidden post with a list but its a few months old at this point) 
    • Shayzien(i) doesnt protect from poison
    • Gorillas Cannon issues
    • Halloween Dye on Draconic
    • Not all Emotes work still
    • Dying with a blowpipe in wilderness PVM as an iron drops your scale and darts but you can't pick them back up
    • Issue with VIP Spawn scrolls
    • Agility shortcut in Taverly Dungeon does not work to gain access to Black Drags (only for non donors it is broken??)
    • Superiors spawned at VIP & Legend can still be stolen by anyone with a cannon
    • KQ at VIP can be made to attack anyone else if you place a cannon while it switches phases
    • Crystal Cannon drops below you when teleporting to certain areas (happened to munchy twice)
    • Making darts with a full invenotyr makes the darts but they get sent to the void
    • Bags of Tokens yeeted into the void when enchanting with a full inventory
    • Reports that Greater Nechyraels & Warped Jellies in Kourend do NOT receive increased superior spawn rate
    • While being hit by wilderness bosses with a Rev Weapon equipped it consumes Ether
    • Rev weps consume 2-4 Ether per hit (not sure if it should be random number or a set amount)
    • Wildy Slayer master interface closes every time he moves. Make it sit still
    • Katana has 80 crush accuracy and no crush attack style
    • Plank Maker in Legend zone doesn't work
    • Giant Mole bugs out and doesn't move allowing players to range it and not take melee damage
    • While Jailed you can boss tele and it steals your money and does not teleport you
    • Master Slayer Emblem disappears on death in wilderness. Staff can still see it in player inventory with the ::checkinventory command but players have to deposit inventory and relog for it to show up
    • Did Ancestral ornamental kits get fixed yet?
    • Sacred Token exchange Korasi Sword: it is supposed to say DONS not DAWNS
    • During events, opening the Crystal chest will drop the Event tokens on the floor instead of sending them to bank with a full inventory
    • Darksire Dagger has a shit protection value
    • Event scrolls continue to count down while offline 
    • Wilderness Demonic Gorillas have terrible agro interaction. They can PJ you off other gorillas and players
    • Demonic Gorillas in their teleport area are bugged and will range in melee range and vice versa.
    • Ogre boots do not boost damage of all club weapons as intended
    • Only the orange Hween cosmetics are traadeable
    • Deposit X in Kharazi 
    • Cannon at KLD causes extreme lag?
    • Wilderness Demonic Gorillas do not drop blood money
    • Gravedigger top can't be stored in POH
    • Can't decant Super Vitality Potions in Kharazi
    • Mage Arena drops do not count for log. (not sure if this has been a long standing bug but it feels like it might be)

There are more that can't be public due to them being abusable but they are on my thread

 

 

I do not think new content should be added to RuneX until community concerns are addressed with existing content and all bugs, or at least most, are fixed.

Great topic hope more people post their Runex wishlists! Will be going over all of these whilst we decide on the topics to poll the community for the future direction of Runex.
