  1. New Events Storm chasing event & Stormcruzzer memorial added. There is also an afk UIM Storm spotted at ::vip. The memorial will last forever, but the event is limited time (end date not yet decided but will be at least 3 weeks+). Special bonus money-making event added to home for winning the Tiktok/Shorts competition vs SpawnPK! For 12 days, you'll be able to complete money-making tasks for bonus rewards. Reach 150 to earn an exclusive reward box with very rare cosmetic rewards! Bank Changes Bank QoLs: Ability to view equipment screen in the bank (small button on top right corner, to the left of the 'x' button). Ability to view rune coin items only in bank, with the total value of all the rune coin items displayed on the title screen Bank screen now stretches its height on resizable mode. You can now right-click items in your inventory while banking to select their main option (Equip, Eat, Drink, Coin/Plat-Token exchange) The "deposit all" button in the bank will now auto-deposit your looting bag items (if there's space) and the bag itself. Loadout QoLs: Loadout slots extended (new loadout booster item added to donor shop for 2k tickets for +10 slots, can use twice. New max loadout amount is 50). Loadouts can now be shifted up or down the list. Loadouts can now be copied and pasted. Loadouts can now be styled with colors and a large variety of icons The max character size of a loadout name has been increased Loadout interface no longer closes when you click set-up. Loadout sharing: You can purchase a "Specimen brush" for 100M from the General store. When using the brush on another player, you can share the loadout copied to your clipboard with them (copied via loadout menu new QoL). If they choose to accept the loadout, it will be set to their clipboard (where they can paste it to a loadout slot in their menu). Players can choose to block you from sharing for 5 minutes (feature to hinder spam trolls). New Hotkeys General: CTRL+H to teleport home (or to your d-zone that is set as home). CTRL+T to teleport to last spellbook teleport used (works for any spellbook tele) CTRL+L to open loot trackers (new feature, see further below!) CTRL+C to open collection logs. Summer Event 2022  Summer gnome hunting Wrangle summer gnomes that are causing havoc around F2P areas & the entire wilderness Gnomes also drop a sub-currency in the form of Summer seashells, used to purchase weapon upgrades & event hunting trinkets There's also a rare chance to find Harvest chickens roaming, similar to gilded eggs from easter giving a large event reward There are common, uncommon, and rare gnomes (each having respectively better drop tables) Last but not least there is a rare chance for a Superior gnome to spawn while hunting. Superiors have increased spawn chances when using blood orbs in the wilderness! Event Bonus Activity: Summer Soul Hunter Event bonus activities return once again, this time spotlighting the Soul Hunter During Soul Hunter tasks you'll receive bonus Summer Tickets from task kills Tickets can be exchanged for Summer tokens & elixirs, various openables and exclusive rares that will be discontinued post-event Cycled activities As usual, every 1-2 hours an activity is spotlighted for token earnings (type ::cycle in-game for more info) Event bosses The global boss, Volcanic hydra spawns every 4 hours in the event boss lair In addition, a wilderness demi-boss Summerwyrm will spawn every 2 hours in a random wildy location! (The location is revealed on the server news broadcast) Event keys As per usual, Crystal/Lava/Brimstone/Larran keys & Task scroll caskets are obtained as special event variants, granting event tokens on usage Money making activities You can earn tokens from ALL money making activity tasks Wagering The wager NPC at ::gamble will now accept Summer token bids during the event! Event pet enchantment For the top event hunters, the tiny volcanic hydra pet can be enchanted to an Volcanic hydra pet This pet has the same effects to the Easter king dragon & Easter kalphite queen pets: Acts as an efficiency blessing (doesn't stack) Grants infinite run energy Receive +25% tokens for all Summer events Patch Notes Fixed issue with certain epic pets displaying the epic tag twice "(Epic) (Epic)" Made improvements to the gold text shading for Exotic items (less blurry) Removed the tile distance requirement for Ancient Godsword special attack for pvm only Fixed issue with using galvanic harpoon on sea slugs at Cavern of Prosperity` Changes made within raids regarding special attack reduction. There is now a cap on how much special attack it can reduce.
  3. Note from the Developers This patch was our first step toward increasing the viability of different mid-game content/items (and to hold things over until this year's Winter Event!) Our aim is bridging the power gap between mid/late game items and end-game BiS items. Reaching a certain power level on RX has always relied heavily on a player's RNG, amounted from massive boss KCs and enchantment sacrifices.   5. Raid Affliction System NEW Affliction Tomes A new type of raid mod, "Affliction tome" that activates an affliction during raids. Only useable in Expert or higher raids. Can purchase affliction tomes for 250 rc each. Can only activate a maximum of 5 per raid. Affliction tomes auto-activate & consume in your inventory upon starting a raid They are also stackable Afflictions received are randomized and cannot be chosen. Afflictions per raid are not repeated.     Revisiting the Nerfs of 2020

    Listen I understand that there are some big issues in the world of Runex that we have plans to tackle soon, but blaming it all on nerfs and saying we're not doing enough isn't gonna make things better or even happen faster. This holiday season was rough, the roughest one we've had yet as far as those go. Things ranging from multiple minor inconveniences to major serious problems. Im not gonna get into personal details on here but on the discord I've briefly mentioned some things. This thread's bias is apparent though and I want to address that. Mentioning all these nerfs without talking about *any* of the things added in return is acting like all we've done this year is make the game harder. It just lists things out that we nerfed without any context. It makes it look worse than it the situation really is. Like saying "Blood barrage nerfed, why?" but not mentioning the supplements of Blood chinchompas or Blood amulet of fury. And if you don't think Blood chinchompas or Blood amulet of fury are worth using then make that known. Those are the things that need buffed. Not blood barrage. Theres a workaround to all these things. We just have to find the right sweetspot for the game. We opened up a lot of new metas and things by doing stuff like accessory changes. Now its not just "Pile on 4 berserker accessorys" and call it a day, you have actually have to be creative and come up with new stuff. And hey, if you still want the old boosts we can compensate for that too. We can add new Master berserker accessories or somethin. Same with GWD. Dont just say "Buff GWD", give examples to help create constructive feedback community-wide. What exactly does GWD need? Weaker bosses? Better drops? By not giving information and just saying "This is a problem" it gets us nowhere closer to our goals of making fair and fun content or your goals of having fun with that content. That being said things also just change in general and naturally. This thread is super fixated on GWD but GWD isnt even huge on OSRS anymore. Things like Nightmare and Raids are the big hitters. So in turn thats why we've also changed with the times. Its nothing against GWD, I like GWD thats why we added Superiors. But still that being said things are bound to change and not stay the same as they did in 07. New armors and weapons replace the old like Inquisitor and Justiciar and stuff, and thats just how it goes. Some of the changes we made listed above were to make room for that content. A lot of really strong stuff did get slightly weakened this year. But its to make room for new better stuff and more fun stuff. As well as to help the economy and stabilization. Our player counts were dwindling due to the economical issues, our playerbase was unhappy with the inflation of items and things. It was really bad. But after all these "nerfs" that you bring up, things actually got a lot better and 2020 went pretty well for Runex. So I dont think just reverting them and making drastic changes is the solution here. I believe theres a middle ground we can take that keeps the game healthy and the players happy. Lastly I want to address the lack of communication to the community over the last month and a half. This holiday season has been a doooozy of a time irl. Many many issues occured like sudden illness, corona delays, internet shutdowns, literally anything you can picture that could go wrong did. But, that being said Ive got a ton of confidence in the future updates and content to come. We will do our best to be more vocal and let you guys know whats going on behind the scenes. The simplest answer as to whats going on behind the scenes right now is not much. We're recovering from a terrible holiday season and getting our ducks in a row for 2021. Thank you guys for your continued patience, I can assure you guys that things will get back on the right track very soon. Much love guys, and appreciate all your passion and care for Runex, it really does mean a lot and I know your hearts in the right place.

    Questions for everyone: What are your responsibilities for RuneX? Do you enjoy these responsibilities? My responsibilities for Runex are all basically summed up under programming- so anything from content creation to bug fixing really. I enjoy what I do a lot because any chance to be creative and have that creativity receive a good response is always a great feeling. Shoutouts to all the other creators out there, whether its art, music, videos, you name it- creators are a dying breed in todays world but just know you've definitely got my respect! Question for Nate: Is there anything major you wish to change on RuneX? I would like to eventually have Fossil Island, Catacombs of Zeah and Superior Slayer monsters before the year ends. As for the current game, any content that players feel as if has lost its value I would like to revisit and revamp. Specifically the areas such as Moneymaking tasks, Voting, Donator perks, Runex point rewards, Runecoin rewards, Midgame gameplay & Bosses are the focus right now. Questions for @Nate: Are you still around? Busy IRL? -Haven't seen you lately I'm still around homie, I've been a little busier than normal but nothing too crazy. Mostly I've just been watching each update and its effects on the game and then making plans for upcoming updates and future content.

    How many years have you been apart of the RSPS Community? Honestly I've lost count but at least 9 years. How many hours per week do you typically spend coding Runex? Varies week to week but for the most part it takes up about the same time as a full time job. (40 hours) but best believe I wouldn't be doing it if I didn't enjoy the living f**k out of what I do. Do you play any other games, aside from RSPS's/Runescape? Overwatch is something I play often but other than that I'll try games but get bored quickly these days honestly. If anyone has good recommendations please throw them my way! What's your thoughts on the current Economic state of Runex? I always think improvement can be done regardless of what state anything is in, game and life included. You only sell yourself short if you settle for the level you are at. Like why not at least continue to get better for the thrill of it?? Are you as active as you wish to be? Anything slowing you down? I won't be able to be as active as I'd like for a bit but I was thoroughly enjoying the communication I had with the community when I was online these last few months. Big thanks to the players for being actuallly really cool lol, past endeavors have lead me to assume most people are bitter but the good players of runex restore my faith with their unique quirkiness and personalities.
