Soul Reaper (concept)

 

Introduction

Soul Reaper (the death) is a high-level Slayer master, that offers tasks for players to complete.
A level 90 of Slayer is required to get a task from him.

He's a busy man, so he offers you a deal: assist him with gathering souls.
You are granted a permission to harvest souls of the dying, using a special lantern to absorb the souls into.
You can check the amount of souls harvested by right-clicking the lantern and clicking "check".
The lantern must be worn in order to harvest a soul.

 

Soul tasks
These tasks consist of killing boss monsters and taking their souls to the reaper for Soul tokens.
The amount of monsters to kill is always dividable by 3 (15, 30, 45, 60, 75).
He feels generous of your assistance and gives you 1/3 share of the souls you harvested in Soul tokens.
As an example, a task from the Reaper to kill 15 monsters grants you 5 Soul tokens.

 

Soul rewards

Soul tokens can be spent on various rewards, such as;

Soul hammers
A powerful two-handed melee weapon that hits twice.
Damage dealt by the first hit is reduced by 50%, the second hit deals the first hit * 2 (100%)
The first hit must deal damage in order for the second one to deal damage.
Degrades per hit and can be charged.
Maximum capacity of 20 000 charges.

Soul sceptre
A powerful two-handed magic weapon that hits twice.
Damage dealt by the first hit is reduced by 50%, the second hit deals the first hit * 2 (100%)
The first hit must deal damage in order for the second one to deal damage.
Degrades per hit and can be charged.
Maximum capacity of 20 000 charges.
Has an integrated spell.

Soul ballista
A powerful two-handed ranged weapon that hits twice.
Damage dealt by the first hit is reduced by 50%, the second hit deals the first hit * 2 (100%)
The first hit must deal damage in order for the second one to deal damage.
Degrades per hit and can be charged.
Maximum capacity of 20 000 charges.
Doesn't require ammunition.

Mask of Souls
A slayer helmet with additional damage to Soul tasks.

... along with several smaller rewards.

 

Additional information

Soul tokens - Warrior guild tokens recolored to cyan (textures)
Lantern of Souls - Lit bug lantern recolored to black, having cyan light (textures)
Soul hammers - Torag's hammers recolored with black handles, the actual hammers being cyan (textures)
Soul sceptre - Skull sceptre recolored with black handle, the skull being cyan (textures)
Soul ballista - Heavy ballista recolored with black / cyan (textures)
Mask of Souls - Ram skull helmet recolored to black/cyan and rotated to look more of a mask than a silly hat (textures)

I think this would be a nice addition to Slayer, as currently boss tasks don't give any additional rewards.
The rewards would be very powerful, but would act as a partial money-sink (need to be charged).

Not supporting only bcuz we already have a lot of custom items ingame.

I don't really like the concept of the weapons. Otherwise this seems kind of okay. Maybe try thinking of some other weapon perks?

I do like this idea; but again, there is alot of custom weapons in RuneX as of now. maybe if there was perks added to certain weapons or enhancements added to the other customs. maybe.
But again; i like this idea.

The idea of this type of slayer master is decent, but the rewards dont fit the game in my opinion also could break pvp if they hit twice everytime...
