[November 12th, 2020] Patch Notes (event improvements)

Patch Notes

  • Cycle activities (Event)
    • The cap timer for cycle activities is now synchronized with the actual cycle activity's time (rather than the 1 hour cap timer)
      • This means if there is 20 mins left on a cycle activity, everyone's cap timer will be at 20 mins
      • And once a cycle activity ends, everyone's cap resets
    • Raised cap to 5K tokens per hour
      • If it's a 30 min cycle, the cap is 2.5K for 30 mins (etc.)
         
  • Trick or Treating (Event)
    • Raised cap to 5K tokens per hour
    • Increased chance for "treats"
    • Increased Ghoul's base token drop amount to 25-50 tokens
    • Added a 1/25 chance for Ghouls to drop 200-250 tokens
    • Added a 1/250 chance for Ghouls to drop 1000 tokens
    • Added a 1/1000 chance for Ghouls to drop a Prize key
    • You can no longer use luck tokens on Ghouls
    • You can no longer use misc. attacks (galvek pet, e-corp pet, etc.) on Ghouls
       
  • Hunger Games (Event)
    • Cap is raised to 15k per 4 hours (instead of 10k)
    • Revamped loot chests
      • We noticed a lot of people upset about the length / time of games, so we upped the gear tiers!
      • Common gear is now rune armor, granite swords, blue d'hide, yew shortbows, and mithril arrows
      • Uncommon gear is now dragon scimitars/longswords, drag daggers, magic shortbows, rune arrows
      • Rare gear is now abyssal whip, amulet of fury, fire cape
      • Common food is monkfish / sharks
      • Common potions are super strength / attack (regular defence pots to prevent too long of fights)
         
    • Added a new "fog" system
      • Once there are 3 survivors left, the "fog" will appear
      • Players who are not in the "safe zone" (indicated on the map and visually in-game) take small but rapid damage!

    • Everyone now starts with 10 "bandages" which heal 15 hitpoints
      • Whenever you kill another player, your 10 bandages will be replenished if you have inventory space
      • Bandages disappear when dropped, and do not drop on death to the player who kills you
         
    • Removed the "Feast" random event
    • Removed the "Chest refill" random event
    • Increased the damage of the "Swarm" random event
    • Increased PJ timer by 3 ticks
    • You can no longer log out in Hunger Games until you're dead / spectator (x-log = instant death)

       
  • Haunted Spectre (Event)
    • Fixed issues with kill participation
    • Fixed issues with the health bar still appearing after leaving the lair
    • Fixed issues with galvek / e-corp pet working on this boss & minions (unintended)
    • Fixed issues with the Haunted spectre pet effect (bonus h'ween tokens)
    • Removed the token limit / cap on haunted spectre
       
  • NEW Event token obtainment methods
    • Nightmare boss
      • A lot of you have been wanting to see buffs to Nightmare's rewards, which we plan to do! But until then...
      • The Nightmare drops 750-850 tokens
      • The Night Terror drops 1,000-1,250 tokens
      • This is uncapped but does not count toward the PS5 contest
         
    • Money making activities
      • 75 per easy task
      • 250 per medium task
      • 500 per hard task, with exception of:
      • 1,250 per raids task
      • 1,250 per e-mole task
      • 1,000 per nightmare task
      • This is uncapped but does not count toward the PS5 contest
         
  • Misc. event improvements
    • Added new "Halloween 2020 dye" to the event coin store (draconic dye)
    • Added new "Ghostly parrot" to the event coin store
    • Added new "H'ween icon" to the event coin store
    • Added h'ween tokens to the currency pouch
    • Added a "tracker" feature to all event activities
    • Added a visual indicator for non-capped activities, allowing ::events to now also serve as a general guide on what you can do for tokens!

  • Other changes / fixes:
    • We've reverted the new infernal elixir formula, but added an infernal cape to the cost
      • As a result, the infernal elixir cost is: 1x infernal cape, 1x fire cape, 1x dragon defender
      • This elixir is extremely powerful and needed some kind of change to the obtainment (which was far too easy)
    • Fixed bug with blood orbs not dropping as coins

Well done honestly. This makes the event a lot more worthwhile!
Glad to see nightmare being patched in the future and having it drop a reasonable amount of tokens is a great temporary solution!

Thanks for the update.

Are there plans to make further improvements and add wildy event monsters? What made you omit them from this update? Did many people complain about getting pked? The wilderness is beyond dead and pking is a huge part of the game. Will the server slowly transition to PVM only? Again, I understand Runex is an Economy server and I feel unwelcomed every time I log in and hit the wilderness. People joke about pking being bannable but at the same time there is real hatred towards pkers. I would like to see expectations for where the server is headed Pking-content wise.

dude, thank you. genuinely appreciate the consideration. felt pretty bad to be sitting on a stack of the old ingredients and feeling like you had wasted 10's of hours. This is a fair way to increase the difficulty of making them without taking anything away from people.
