Prime Ironman BTW

Welcome to my new project, Ms Guided. 

I always get a lot of ironmen, mainly primes, asking me for advice, particularly in the gear and account direction department. I always give the same advice, but it takes me 15+ minutes of typing via pms to properly explain my path. So I've decided to make an early-mid game ironman [mainly prime] guide to help out our newest grinders. 

We do have some ironman guides, but in my eyes, they are either outdated, too broad or just too much to expect someone to read, and that's coming from me. But unlike most guides, I will not just be going off my knowledge, I will be playing a hardcore prime ironman and documenting my progression and detailing why I made certain decisions.

Once I've progressed far enough, I will use the picture and information from this post to make a proper indepth guide. 

Progress Report #1

To start, I chose to try and complete the skilling task daily to get some skiller experience tokens.

Unfortunately, I got one of the worst possible tasks.

Mega oof, better move on to the thieving daily.

Time to vote for some combat tokens for future training.

The hell does this guy want?

Used some runex points to get a new skilling task, 13 crimson wagtails. 

Might as well try my luck with a slayer task.

With my new combat tokens, it is time to complete some early combat achievements.

Started with chickens and moved on to rock crabs to train combat and slayer through a mix of melee and magic.

Time to melee some hill giants for those noted bones and 2 easy achievements.

Make sure to use someones guilded altar and combat tokens.

Well that didn't take too long.

With my new combat stats, it's time to get some herbs for prayer potions, seeds and chaos runes for magic training.

Perfect.

I needed a break from combat, so I thought training up all my skills past 25 would be great for total level and achievements.

Got 50 hunter and decided to try and hunt myself a tome of fire to save 40000 runex points.

After 3 inventories, I gave up, got some amazing loot, but no tome.

Got 125 dragon bones from hunter, I'll use them so my prayer potions last longer.

I need to complete 3 barrows runs to get a barrows box and 10000 runex points, and hopefully some runes.

But fire bolt isn't very good. 

Struggled through it and managed to pull an amulet of the damned as my first box item, major upgrade.

Time to get my tome!

Killing 10 lizarman shamans is a decently easy and safe medium achievement for some runex points and a crystal key.

2 Birds with one stone!

Now that I have my tome, it is time to get my iban staff!

Unfortunately, 55 kill in the wilderness wasn't enough to get lucky and a pker was after me. Had to do 125 kills total to get the free iban staff from the achievement. 
But I alched all the way, so I managed to get 75 magic by the time I got my iban staff and imbued it for 5+ on the max hit. 

With my imbued iban staff and tome of fire, it was time to go to bed. Here is my day one stats, items and info!

With my new Ibans power, I could start doing shade dailies.

For shit loot

Went to train up some skills to work towards 1000 total achievement.

Got a rare sunken treasure!

For sunken disappointment. 

Time to work on construction using the planks I got from hunting Implings.
Working towards a costume room, a must for all ironmen!

But I need to use catalyst tokens to maximise my experience, off to the wilderness I go.

Moving up in the world, time to deck out my house with;

A low level costume room,

and I low level boss portal room.

This grind also pushed me over 1000 total.

Which gave me enough runex points to imbue my tome of fire for extra fire damage.

Time for a bunch of barrows:

 

Also got some task scrolls, let's see If I'm lucky:

 

Nope.

Decided as magic is my main combat style, I may as well do the 250 battle mage kills achievement to unlock the mage arena 2 capes.

Only got a 100 or so kill in before the mages sold me out, barely escaped. 

Decided to do the dragon defender grind for some extra runex points and achievement points.

Ended up finishing in under 300 tokens, + what subsequent achievements reward.

Time to head back to shades for some easy loot.

Well shit.
 

Hardcores end statistics, gear and info.

 

 

Keep in mind, I chose to make my account a hardcore just to see where and when I would die, I didn't let it effect my game play. This account will continue, as my real hardcore is very much alive!

Now that I was no longer a hardcore, it was time to finish off Ace of the Arena.

There we go, some decent loot.

And the goal of it all.

Time for some barrows runs, working our way to 50 for some nice runex points:

Completing some easy task scrolls as well, looking for those hearts:

A twisted heart and holy sandals, two great items to get.

Time to do some skilling to work towards 1600 total level for more runex points.
Doing firemaking, fishing and mining the barbarian way is also something to consider getting out of the way. 






Thieving is quite an important skill for ironmen.

Getting to 84 is well worth the grind as you can thieve the rogues chest.

Time for some gear upgrades for melee and range.

Kharazi chests for a magic shortbow to imbue to a magic shortbow I 

Tokkul shop for some obsidian gear, decent melee stats and needed to create cursed gear down the line.

Tried to get some lucky pvp armour, but a lava key is also alright.

Lava key got me a lava whip, not something most players should expect this early. 

 

Time for some more achievements:

 

Semi-afking basilisks is a decent spot, as you can get heads, they barely hit and are aggressive.

Now that I obtained over 800m cash, I decided to use a bond on myself, as anyone else could easily xfer the cash to buy a bond.

Obviously buying a falcons glove because I'm lazy.

Now that I bought my falcon glove, it is time to train up hunter so I can catch more implings:

With those few extra achievements done, I finally had 100 achievement points for varrock armour 4:

Time to do some impling hunting for skilling supplies:


Managed to cop a dragon harpoon and pickaxe!

Gambled a herbicide and lost it, so I bought another and succeeded! Herbicide i is an amazing tool for all slayer and bossing:

Decided to do a lava dragon daily for a bunch of loot and blood money:

Got a cursed casket and looted a lava key of all things:

Also got a king lava dragon teleport, 1 out of 5.

Used the lava key and got junk:

But got a whip from an ultimate prize box.

Decided to do some revanents for their OP loot and runes:


Even got a double craws bow drop!

Using the blood money that I saved up, it was time to do some cursed crypts for the 3 crypts achievement and maybe some loot:


3 crypts done and I got a vesta spear :') 

For future revanent runs, I will need a looting bag to maximise loot and survivability:

For 100 slayer points, I unlocked the catacombs teleport:

I now farmed some extended black demon slayer tasks for semi afk experience and the 250 kills achievement:

Also got a verac set from a donor mystery box from an achievement:

Also did a few Zulrah slayer tasks with luck tokens for the 50 kills achievement:

Now that I'm getting in to the mid game in terms of skilling, I need a constant supply of catalyst token. Luckily, 1 lava feather is equal to 1 catalyst token.

Decided to do some Kharazi for fun, and managed to get my first jungle demon kill/daily for an easy achievement:

Got dragon gauntlets from a crystal key, time for a melee gloves upgrade:

After the afking of black demons, It's time for the next afk achievement, Kurasks! Make sure you always extend the slayer task:

Progress Report Part 5:

It's been a while!

It has been a little while, so this report will be ordered by type of progression rather than a time line.

Achievements and Milestones:

All this skilling got me to 2k total

Training crafting with black D'hides obtained from revenents for the achievement.

Knocked out prayer training for SS, great for raids.

Casual 99 Magic

Woodcutting in the cursed caverns is 100% self sustained catalyst tokens, and the tree never runs out!

Unlocked barbarian slayer.

Collateral damage for some cheeky onyxs

Some easy AFK bossing achievements

Semi AFKed a firecape

New KBD drop table is amazing for med game!

AFKed some dark beasts

One of many tiers, next stop, superior bosses!

I hate Warriors guild, but like runex points.
