Every week there will now be several "leaderboard contests", as well as a "contest of the month" that the entire server can participate in! Speak with King arthur at home to get started (you may notice some improvements to the area!) Each contest is divided into three separate leaderboards with their own set of rankings & winners: Standard players Iron man players (includes HCIM) Ultimate iron man players There are a total of Five weekly contests that are randomly generated each week: Possible Skilling contests: For now, this will only be "top skilling points earned" to allow a broader variety of skilling activity Point mystery boxes do not count for leaderboard entries! Possible Bossing contests: Fastest Vorkath kill of the week Most Alchemical Hydra kills of the week Fastest Alchemical Hydra kill of the week Most Zulrah kills of the week Fastest Zulrah kill of the week Most Abyssal Sire kills of the week Fastest Abyssal Sire kill of the week Most Corporeal Beast kills of the week Most Lizard Shaman kills of the week Most KBD kills of the week Most Kraken kills of the week Most Cerberus kills of the week Most Skotizo kills of the week Most Kalphite Queen kills of the week Possible Raids contests: A variety of CoX/ToB contests based on difficulty! The difficulty does not exceed master, and are more commonly Normal-Expert Raid contests are sometimes "solo only" Solo raid contests have a chance to be a Fastest raid run contest type (Normal only)! Possible Minigame contests: Most barrows runs of the week Most jungle demon kills (Kharazi minigame) of the week Most chompy bird kills of the week Most puro puro impling catches of the week Most cursed mummy kills (Nardah minigame) of the week Most TzTok-Jad kills of the week Possible Miscellaneous contests: Most easy task scroll completions of the week Most medium task scroll completions of the week Most hard task scroll completions of the week Most crystal chest openings of the week Most lava chest openings of the week Most cursed crypt runs of the week Most daily money making tasks completed Most player kills of the week Most hard slayer tasks of the week Winning a weekly or contest of the month will grant you Leaderboard points and 1-3 Golden tickets These points and tickets can be spent at the leaderboard shops to receive a huge variety of exclusive items Being a runner-up (2nd or 3rd place) will grant you a smaller amount of leaderboard points, but not golden tickets You will also appear in the "Hall of Fame" for a week if you're a winner or runner-up! Click the "Hall of fame" plaque located next to King Arthur to view it New skilling content Ancient urns This item can be purchased from the skilling point store for 10 skilling points When opened, it will require you to fill it with 1,000 of a random resource After the urn is filled, you are rewarded (potentially with new exclusive items) Potential rewards include, but are not limited to: Random items from the skilling point shop (not including tomes!) Mystic lamps Epic crystal keys Task bottles Leprechaun hats (new!) Large spade (new!) Briefcase (new!) Bucket helm and Bucket helm (g) (new!) Stale baguette (new!) Giant's boot (new!) - Rarest item, exchanges for 1,500 rune coins! Chinchompa blast mining and woodcutting New blast chopping and mining methods have been added with Kharazi chinchompas Use kharazi chinchompas to instantly harvest trees or rocks at rapid speed This is now the most efficient (yet most expensive) way to cut and mine logs/ores in-game! Unlockable through new scrolls available for purchase in the Kharazi trading stick exchange (3,000 sticks) Sunken treasures (fishing) You now have a rare chance to receive a sunken treasure casket when fishing! These caskets can open for all kinds of rewards & supplies, including but not limited to: Mystic lamps 5-15M Coins Dragon harpoon Stacks of noted anglerfish Stacks of noted raw fish Stacks of noted uncut gems A ton of fun new and exclusive pirate items! Marks of grace Mark of grace exchange Stamina pot reward increased from one to a stack of 3 Added "5x Amylase crystals" for 10 tokens (see below) Graceful equipment You will now receive 2X marks of grace from agility courses while equipped Hardwood grove exchange Added a new exchange similar to granite mining (but for logs) at Hardwood Grove Combinational runecrafting You can now runecraft combination runes! Obtain a Grand Talisman from the astral shard exchange for 1 astral shard! Bring the respective talisman type to the respective rune altar For example, bringing a Grand air talisman to the Fire altar will craft Smoke runes Herblore Stamina potion crafting Requires 77 herblore Ingredients: Super energy + Amylase crystal Prayer renewal potion crafting Requires 94 herblore Ingredients: Fellstalk (unf) + Frost dragon bones Effect: Provides 2.5 minutes of restoring 5% prayer every 15 seconds Ultimate combat potion crafting Requires 99 herblore Ingredients: Battlemage + Bastion + Super combat + Fellstalk Effect: Super pots all stats when drank, can not be used in wilderness Resource tokens These new tokens can be obtained from: Skilling task daily money activity Bags and sacks of tokens Cursed cavern skilling exchanges When in your inventory, these tokens will grant you an extra resource harvest! This only counts for raw materials, so skills such as Runecrafting and Farming do not count Chaos druid altar A chaos druid altar has been added to the Taverly Dungeon chaos druid location When you pray to the altar, regular bones will be exchanged for a random noted grimy herb Gloves of silence New rare loot from the Rogue's chest! Increases chances of thieving and hunting success by +20% when worn Other changes & improvements Granite mine rewards slightly buffed Thieving pickpocket NPCs at edgeville slightly buffed Minimum amounts have been lowered for stackable materials/resources in the impling tables 200M Skill capes and Max capes After reaching 200,000,000 experience in a skill, you can now purchase a 200M skill cape from the general store shop-keeper! 200M skill capes have the same effects as regular skill capes, but with a boost! If you manage to reach 200,000,000 experience in all skills you've earned the right to purchase a 200M max cape! Since game modes require different amounts of grinding, each mode has their own 200M max cape (see below) Lag fixes (Lite mode) Until we address the root cause for frame rate issues that some of you have been having, we've implemented a new "Lite mode" setting to the client which can be freely toggled in-game by opening your settings tab! When enabled, graphic settings will be noticeably reduced, but performance increase will noticeably improved as well! Disclaimer: As a result of this feature the settings tab has been slightly re-worked. As shown in the picture above, resizable mode is now toggled on/off with a single button (located next to the lite button) Sound effects (Beta test) We've finally begun adding sound effects to Runex! But, due to the sheer amount of content we'd have to navigate and manually input sounds for, this feature may be bugged & incomplete at the moment. With that being said, we're inviting all Super donator+ players to the beta testing of this feature! Simply turn your volume up in the settings tab and experience what we've added so far! Other content and Gameplay changes: Dual sai (Mage of Wisdom exchange) This new weapon can be bought from the Mage of Wisdom rune coin exchange! Each hit will deal two hits Void knight mace has been added to the achievement shop for 100 points Gives +30% damage in melee void set Gives +15% damage in magic void set Wilderness cape New item available in the wilderness reward shop! Requires 1,000 kills and 1,000,000 blood money Untradeable with great stats, acts as an accumulator while equipped Cape of skulls New item available in the wilderness reward shop! Costs 50,000 blood money Skulls you when equipped Tradeable, provides +5% drop rate in the wildy while equipped New task scroll rewards: Easy tasks Brickstone wedge Frog flippers Bear feet Mole slippers Parrot Elite tasks Tormented bracelet (or) Fremennik kilt Master tasks 3rd age Druidic pieces 3rd age Druidic staff PvM time records The time in which you complete raids or kill certain instanced bosses will now display after the kill/run Our database will now keep track of your best record You can currently type ::raids to view your best time for each raid type, per difficulty Unfortunately, this will only display best times after this update We will be using this data for a lot of cool future content and highscore features! Other/Miscellaneous: Kalphite queen added to VIP spawner Amulet of ranging (t) ranged strength inreased from 10 to 15 All summoning familiar's regular attack max hits hav ebeen buffed Grimy fellstalk (50x) is now dropped by Skotizo (1/25) Grimy fellstalk (25x) is now dropped by Lizard Shaman (1/100) Bug fixes: You can now destroy your looting bag if it's empty (useful for UIM) Max hit dummies can now be attacked by all players Fixed a bug where you'd sometimes receive slayer tasks even if you permanently cancelled them Fixed a bug with monster examination sometimes presenting the wrong drop table Fixed sacred token drops not announcing Fixed the ::discord command (PVP) BGS and Sara sword have received max hit caps and reduced special attack strengths (PVP) Katana has been given a max hit cap and reduced special attack strength Final notes: During the final stages of development of this update, we ran our very first staff "Test world" to minimize bugs/issues.
