Upgraded Pets Guide

Recommended Posts

As a lot of people have been asking information about pets and how accessories work with pets, I have decided to create a guide that explains how upgraded pets work.

What types of pets can be upgraded into Legendary Pets?

All pets that are considered into the category of boss pets may be upgraded, this includes:

  • Godwars Pets (Zilyana, K'ril Tsutsaroth, General Graardor, Kree' Arra)
  • Jad Pets (TzTok-Jad, JalYet-Jad)
  • Raids Pets (Vasa Nistirio, Tekton, Vespula, Vanguards, Muttadile, Olm, Maiden of Sugadinti, Pestilent Bloat, Nylocas Vasilias, Xarpus, Verzik Vitur)
  • Mole Pets (Enormous Mole (Also a epic pet), Giant Mole)
  • Daganoth Pets (Supreme, Prime, Rex)
  • Wilderness Boss Pets (Chaos Elemental, Callisto, Vet'ion Purple & Orange, Venenatis)
  • Exclusive Pets (Doppelganger, Mini-Me. Both of these are considered Epic Pets as well.)
  • Various Slayer Boss Pets (Thermonuclear Smoke Devil, Kraken, Cerberus)
  • Other Boss Pets (Vorkath, Zulrah, Chaos Mummy, Corporeal Beast, Lizardman Shaman, Justiciar, Derwen, Porazdir)
  • Runecoin Pets (this includes the Lava Dragon and Frost Dragon Pet)
  • Promotion Pets (List in the update topic 6341)
  • Superior Boss Pets (Colossal Cerberus, Leviathan Kraken, Nitronuclear Smoke Devil, Abyssal Darksire, Philosophous Hydra)
  • Epic Pets (Shadow Phoenix, Blood Phoenix, Hydro phoenix, Cursed Wraith, Angelic Swift-Eagle, Galvek Pet, Wolperbeast Pet, Penumbric Demon, Demonic Tarn, Death Pet, Treasure Fairy Pet, Gravitonic Bork, Berserker Titan, Gladiator Titan, Guardian Titan, Blood Reaper, Winter Demon, Skotizo, Enormous Mole)

These boss pets can be obtained by killing their respective bosses, by opening pet mystery boxes and chests, and by opening donator mystery boxes and chests. Each boss pet is the same, with exception for the Epic pets, which may have a unique ability and can hold an additional pet accessory. Furthermore, Epic, Exclusive, and Promotion pets do not require an accessory upgrade for their first addition of a pet accessory (there is no benefit to having a Tekton pet versus having a Kraken pet).

Note: Epic pets can only be obtained through Epic pet mystery boxes (u), excluding the mini-me and doppelganger pets.

What types of pets can not be upgraded into Legendary Pets?

All pets that are not considered boss pets, this includes:

  • Skilling Pets, such as a Beaver or Rocky.
  • Situational event Pets, such as a TzFrozt-Jad Pet or Summer Dragon Pet.

How can I add Pet Accessories onto Legendary Pets?

Obtain an Accessory Upgrade  from either a pet mystery box, the donator store, or other players. Use the Accessory Upgrade on your boss pet of choice.

Next, right click the newly created Legendary Pet, it will have a series of options, click "Upgrade."

The upgrade screen will have your Boss Pet along with three boxes. Each of these boxes correlate to one Accessory. If you have only put one Accessory Upgrade on the pet, you will have one open box and two boxes that have X's in them. You can add up to three Accessory Upgrades on each boss pet, which will open space for three Pet Accessories. Additionally, Epic pets have the ability to add four Accessory Upgrades, for a total of four Pet Accessories on each epic pet.

The three or four added accessories are stackable, which means that one single boss pet could have three luck accessories on it, which would add up to a 22.5% luck bonus (7.5% per accessory). An Epic pet could have four luck accessories, adding up to a 30% luck bonus at 7.5% per accessory.

Note: You can only have one upgraded pet of each kind, you will not be able to add different upgrades to two of the same pet (such as two Kraken Pets).

Example of a filled up upgrade screen, with two prayer accessories and one sacred accessory added to the pet:

What types of Accessories are available?

The following is a list of potential Pet Accessories that can be added to a Legendary Boss Pet, sorted into tiers based on how rare and useful each accessory can be. All of these accessories can be achieved by opening Pet Mystery Boxes, excluding the accessories under the "unique accessory" category.

Weak Accessories:

These are accessories that are very common and in a majority of cases, not very useful.

Hitpoints Accessory: Each accessory restores 1 hitpoint per 20 seconds up to a total of 3 hitpoints restored per 20 seconds.

These are accessories that are often used and some are fairly rare.

Guardian Accessory: Each accessory protects players from 5% damage up to a total of 15% damage reduction.

Infernal Accessory: Each accessory gives players a +5% accuracy boost for all combat styles up to a +15% accuracy boost.

Unique Accessories:

These accessories can not be obtained by pet mystery boxes.

Sacred Accessory: Gives Level 150+ monsters a chance to drop sacred tokens when killed. Stackable to improve drop rate. Can be bought with runecoins.

Bonus Accessory: Gives Level 150+ monsters a chance to drop bonus mystery chests when killed. Stackable to improve drop rate. Can be bought with runecoins.

Treasure Accessory: Gives Level 150+ monsters a chance to drop donator mystery caskets when killed. Stackable to improve drop rate. Can be bought with runecoins.

Paladin Accessory: This accessory combines the effect of the vitality and holy accessory, but is still weak as those accessories are not very useful. Achieved through the enchantment chest.

Restoration Accessory: This accessory combines the effect of the hitpoints, prayer, special, and stamina accessories which can make it quite useful. Achieved through the enchantment chest.

What if I want to remove an accessory?

You can do so but it will destroy the accessory as you remove it, but opens up space for other accessories to be added. Alternatively, you can pay a 250m fee to remove the accessory and keep the accessory (recommended for expensive accessories).

Anyway this is a very useful guide and it MUST be pinned as there is no other guide to explain any of this.

Thanks you.

You will lose accessories as well but there is an option to remove each accessory for 250m if you want to keep the accessory (say its a Master Experience Accessory thats pretty pricey, but you got maxed and now want to remove it, it would cost 250m to do so).
