The Brimstone Key Drop Rate Guide

I've been noticing a bunch of people in game not sure whether we got a buff or a nerf to the drop rate of Brimstone keys.

So I went ahead and snagged around 250 Brimstone slayer tasks so I could compile all of the drop rates for everyone.


I will have this post color coded on drop rates for: The old drop rate, New drop rate without Brimstone Scroll, and New drop rate with Brimstone Scroll. Lets begin!

The Drop Rate Formula

Old Formula: 120 - (NPC HP ÷ 4) = Brimstone Key Rate (Cannot go below 1/45 chance)

Formula without scroll: 120 - (NPC HP ÷ 3) = Brimstone Key Rate (Cannot go below 1/40 chance)

Formula with Scroll: 120 - (NPC HP ÷ 3) = Key Rate + 20% better chance = New Key Rate (Cannot go below 1/32 chance)

Note: 300hp is the maximum allowed drop rate. So for Brutal Black Drags 300 is used instead of 315 for HP value.

All values are rounded UP to the nearest whole number

I do not have all of the HP values for the Brimstone Superior Slayer creatures. So if someone wants to send that info my way I will add it to the guide

I did not specify location on most of these as they share HP values at their locations. For the ones that didn't I labeled them as such

If I missed any Brimstone tasks please let me know, I rolled over 100 times after I completed my list and got nothing new. So I hope I snagged everything

*Both Jellies and Warped Jellies are in Catacombs of Kourend and both can be killed for the Jelly slayer task in Kourend. Both also spawn Superiors

I discussed everything with Nate before writing this up and he gave me all the formulas.

What was in the picture was the original release formula when Brimstone Slayer got introduced.

That formula lasted for a total of 1 hour, before it was updated to: 120 -(HP LVL /4)

 

Basically what we had all thought was the formula that everyone has been using was incorrect the whole time 😁

Yessir, from what I've tested so far the Brimstone Scroll makes a HUGE difference
