  5. Hello, everyone! On March 9th, 2021 the host for our game server experienced a fire adjacent to our datacenter. Luckily all of our data is OKAY, but our host won't be able to restore our services until near the end of March. On behalf of the RuneX team, I sincerely apologize for not having a stronger recovery plan for us. Nonetheless, I can assure that we've already taken steps to drastically improve our infrastructure And with such news, we will make things right the best way we can, with something to enjoy & benefit from during this wait time.. The RuneX "Leagues" Event While waiting for the main server/world to restore we're now temporarily hosting RX under a brand new world with fresh accounts. Progress made during this event will reward you on the main world at the end of its duration Leagues Event Rules: Only ONE ACCOUNT per person during this event. No multi-account farming for milestones, etc.! If caught avoiding your (UID/IP ban) punishment on the league server, this will go against you in future appeals for your account(s) on the main server. The rules from the main server will still be enforced on the League server Leagues Event Information: How it works: Players can make fresh / new accounts on this temporary world. Unique usernames are enforced (no existing usernames from the main world) Accounts from the Leagues world will be transferred to the main world at the end of the event, and the league world will shut down As a result, players who join RuneX during the event will not lose their account / progress once the main world is back up Milestones There is a large list of milestones to complete in the League world. For an example, "Complete your first raid" Each milestone has its own set rewards (GP, bonds, etc.) based on difficulty (easy/medium/hard/elite) Each milestone reward is claimable on the main world to an account of your choice after the event is over Milestones also give "Milestone points" which are used for buying optional cosmetics after the event is over Competitions UPDATE: As of March 25th this competition leaderboard has ended The #1 player with the most Milestone points will receive a custom cosmetic of their in the main world The top 10 players with the most Milestone points receive an equippable Enchanted trophy in the main world Other players receive trophies tiered (bronze through dragon) based on their milestone brackets League World Properties Only non-iron Normal mode is available, in order to create an even playing-field & equal opportunity for milestones and rewards In the League world, the default respawn time for monsters has been reduced from 30 seconds to 9 seconds Players do not have to sacrifice boss pets to unlock the PoH boss instance teleport (in the portal room) Questions & Answers: Q: Are there "relics" or special perks available in the Leagues world? A: Unfortunately not, despite the "Leagues" theme. We are doing this for two reasons: We want accounts made in the League world to carry over into the main world (particularly so brand new players don't lose their account progress when the main world is back up), therefore things like perks/relics would be an unfair advantage. We wanted to get this out ASAP, so dev time required to implement them would've set us too far back Q: How do we claim our milestone rewards once the main world is back up? A: You'll be able to login to your "League account" in the main world after the event is over. Once logged in, there will be an option to enter any username of your choice to send the reward(s) to. Q: How long is the event (when will the main world come back?) A: We are waiting for the host to restore services, this will likely be somewhere around the end of March but we don't have an exact ETA yet. Q: Will the main world & my accounts (from before March 9th) come back? A: As explained throughout this topic, yes all of your old accounts will come back after the event. The Leagues World is being hosted until then to serve as a fun & beneficial experience while everyone waits. If you joined RuneX during Leagues, your account will be transferred to the main world as a regular account, so no worries! Q: Will I be able to transfer the Total Donated amount from my League account to my Main world account after the event? A: Yes! You'll be able to even to irons, GIMs, UIMs but it will have to be your account that you're transferring to.

    I'll test it later myself, but could anybody elaborate (with some detail) on what's wrong with the new mechanics? It may be because of the damage threshold, which is now supposed to be switching protections after 50 damage received The previous/old mechanic was random and I believe it took longer (more than 50+ damage) to switch protections.

    Keep in mind we'd re-balance all the content in Kharazi, relative to the fact that monthly resets are a thing. Mid-tier gear will be more relevant, and we'd also potentially add new custom kharazi gear that hits those lower tier marks (obtainable via new skilling methods in Kharazi via smithing/crafting/fletching/etc. and/or monster drops)
  8. GWD & Elite Godwars Dungeon Regular GWD difficulty is now toned down, and should be a lot easier for new players! Boss mechanics have been overhauled, are less buggy, and may now require new strategies! There is also a new, more difficult instance of the dungeon, a.k.a the Elite Godwars Dungeon To access this dungeon, you need 100 achievements completed and 50 KC for each regular GWD boss Elite Godwars Dungeon Monsters, minions, and bosses in this dungeon have increased: hitpoints, damage, and defenses For ironman accounts, drops in this dungeon are recognized purely by damage dealt (like normal players) This dungeon has frozen over! The map, along with the monsters residing it, are shining with light blue textures! Everything in this dungeon (including monsters outside of boss rooms) has a chance to drop: Elder shards (of their respective god type) Noted (rune coinable) dragon pieces Bags of riches 25x Catalytic / Elemental runes Elite ecumenical keys Ecumenical shards (explained further below) Elite bosses in this dungeon have the following benefits: Drop rates increased by 50% Chance for superior boss increased by 33% All elite bosses have a 1/50 chance to drop crest pieces 1-3 All elite bosses have a 1/100 chance to drop 10x elder shards of their respective type Instanced elite bossing is possible, but you must collect Ecumenical shards to spawn them! Ecumenical shards are only dropped in NON-INSTANCED elite GWD They are dropped by all monsters, even the ones outside of the boss room This is a scripted drop meaning that they are not found on the drop table interface. There is a cooldown of 60 seconds per drop They will go directly in your inventory (or looting bag, if it's on auto-loot and has free space) Simply teleport via your GWD portal with the shards in your inventory. They will consume 1x per boss spawn, and the instance ends once you run out of shards in your inventory. This instance is solo-only, meaning GIM members can't join your elite GWD instance The Book of Divine is obtained at the entrance of the dungeon, which contains elite GWD tasks, granting rewards! The tasks are killcount-related, organized by "Task level" Completing EACH task will grant you rewards based on their level (3 tasks per level, so 3 rewards per level) Once you complete ALL the tasks, you may equip the book which grants +10% damage in both Regular & Elite GWD Nightmare Improvements You now receive one free daily coffer scroll (untradeable version) from Lucid Dreamer The "Lucid dreamer" NPC (located next to Nightmare) is who you must now speak with to access your coffer Regular coffer scrolls dropped by Nightmare are now tradeable Luck tokens are now available for use in Nightmare and Night Terror Luck tokens have received an integrity change! Scroll further down to Gameplay Changes for more information The following changes have been made to both Nightmare and Night Terror: Removed pillar's defense against magic & non-crush Pillar hitpoints now scale based on party size (It's slightly lower in solo, and slightly higher in 5-man groups) Instead of Nightmare's defence fully recovering each phase, it now only recovers 15% (33% on Night Terror) of it's maximum level after each phase Improved the visual for Nightmare/Terror's "Surge" attack (he now properly dashes across the platform) Fixed Nightmare/terror's combat stats for proper turmoil procs Nightmare's active defence level now appears on the top right corner of its HP overlay Inquisitor equipment is now recognized as a Zamorak gear (GWD factions, unholy ring bonus, etc.) Gameplay changes & QoLs Luck token integrity change Drop rate bonuses now have diminishing returns on each bonus drop roll from luck tokens This should not effect things too drastically for most players, luck tokens still offer a great advantage Donator zone home teleports There is now a wizard located at every dzone who gives you the option to set that respective zone as your new home This teleport change will only effect the home teleport in your spellbook (you can still type ::home to go to Edgeville) Alternatively, you can right-click "Teleport" on the wizard and he will beam you to Edgeville Added broken versions for chaotic (i) weaponry (Death costs are 5x normal chaotics) Increase death repair costs of untradeables All death costs doubled. They were severely outdated, as money-making rates have raised by over 6X since original values were made Hunter's honour stats reduced by 50% for attack/defensive bonuses. The hat still retains its +3 max hit and strength bonuses, its only losing some accuracy and defense. Demonic Gorillas mechanics have been improved Combat mechanics have been re-coded, their behavior and pathing should now be less buggy Cannons now hit them, and will count as "range damage" to it's protection system. (Gilded / amethyst cannonballs are still counted as ranged!)   11. Winter Event 2020 Happy holidays, everyone! We're proud to finally launch this year's Winter world event! You can earn Winter tokens this year from a WIDE VARIETY of activities! This limited time event will be active until: January 15th, 2021 so don't miss out! Glacial Beast Hunting Glacial Beasts are roaming the F2P world! Speak with the Winter Hunter at home in order to begin this activity! He will hand you a free Chocolate snowpipe to hunt them with These monsters drop winter tokens, winter mystery boxes, prize keys, and Frozen fur Frozen fur can be exchanged with the Winter Hunter to upgrade your snowpipe, or purchase other rewards! Chocolate snowpipe (t2) - Upgrades your regular (t1) snowpipe's damage and accuracy Chocolate snowpipe (t3) - Upgrades your (t2) snowpipe's damage and accuracy (BiS for glacial beasts and the event boss) There are four different variants of Glacial Beasts, each one being more rare (and more rewarding) than the other Glacial beast (light) - Common Glacial beast (medium) - Uncommon Glacial beast (heavy) - Rare Glacial beast (gargantuan) - Very rare Winter Imp Hunting Winter imps are roaming the wilderness! The winter hunter can also help you get started with this activity In order to catch Winter imps, you must craft special imp boxes (workshop found next to the Hunter) There are three different types of imp boxes to choose from: Regular imp box - 50% catch success rate, regular rewards Swifty imp box - 75% catch success rate, half of the regular rewards Looty imp box - 25% catch success rate, 2X rewards Imp boxes have a chance to break if you fail to catch a Winter imp! When successfully caught, imps grant you winter tokens, winter beads (uncommon), mystery boxes (rare), prize keys (very rare) Winter beads can be used to purchase a Frosty imp box which is an unbreakable & improved box! Other Activities / Miscellaneous Much like all our events here on RuneX, the winter event includes all our usual misc. activities: World event boss every 4 hours (Evil Snowman) Cycle activities Event keys & task scrolls Money making activity teleports Here are some changes we've made compared to our last event (H'ween 2020): Event keys & task scrolls activity no longer has a limit Mole claw / skin exchange no longer gives event key(s) Barrows activity raised from 100-200 tokens per run to 350-450 tokens per run Players who still have some unused "Drop / Exp / Superior boost scrolls" from the h'ween will now have re-skinned xmas scrolls (useable during this event) Boost scrolls will now carry over to every event if you don't get a chance to use them before the current event ends! Patch Notes Cycle activities (Event) The cap timer for cycle activities is now synchronized with the actual cycle activity's time (rather than the 1 hour cap timer) This means if there is 20 mins left on a cycle activity, everyone's cap timer will be at 20 mins And once a cycle activity ends, everyone's cap resets Raised cap to 5K tokens per hour If it's a 30 min cycle, the cap is 2.5K for 30 mins (etc.) Trick or Treating (Event) Raised cap to 5K tokens per hour Increased chance for "treats" Increased Ghoul's base token drop amount to 25-50 tokens Added a 1/25 chance for Ghouls to drop 200-250 tokens Added a 1/250 chance for Ghouls to drop 1000 tokens Added a 1/1000 chance for Ghouls to drop a Prize key You can no longer use luck tokens on Ghouls You can no longer use misc. attacks (galvek pet, e-corp pet, etc.) on Ghouls Hunger Games (Event) Cap is raised to 15k per 4 hours (instead of 10k) Revamped loot chests We noticed a lot of people upset about the length / time of games, so we upped the gear tiers! Other changes / fixes: We've reverted the new infernal elixir formula, but added an infernal cape to the cost As a result, the infernal elixir cost is: 1x infernal cape, 1x fire cape, 1x dragon defender This elixir is extremely powerful and needed some kind of change to the obtainment (which was far too easy) Fixed bug with blood orbs not dropping as coins
  17. Halloween Event 2020: For those unaware, despite it being November we still wanted to bring you guys this seasonal event. We explained this more in-depth on our official Discord. We also announced that this event will be tied with a contest, holding IRL prizes (see below)! After almost 2 years of re-hashing our "same old" event system, we've finally evolved it! The event chest is now split up into two tier tabs. To unlock Tier II, you must roll all the items in Tier I. Tier II costs more tokens per roll than Tier I, but guarantees much better rewards per roll. With this new system & approach, the chest (on both tiers) has nearly as much junk/cosmetics as the old chests did. Holiday cosmetics are now sold in an optional token shop. Chest rolls will feel a lot more rewarding! With event chests now becoming more rewarding per roll, we had to some element of balance on the amount/rate of tokens entering the game. As a result, activities will now have timed limits for token earnings. But don't worry! We've carefully designed these limits to ensure that the event is still the profitable grind that you all expect it to to be! This fair layer of precaution is what will actually keep token prices higher for longer, and keep excitement for the event longer (encouraging activity diversity). Hunger Games (minigame) A new 8-16 player "Hunger games" safe PvP minigame is debuting with the H'ween event. This should be enjoyable for ALL players of different in-game wealth and gameplay skill (especially newcomers) because it's an entirely even playing field! Players enter the battlefield with no gear or pets. Everyone has to gather gear/supplies from chests scattered around the map, and fight to the death LMS style. During the match, random events & monsters will also appear to make things interesting. Some are good and can save your life, others are bad and may do the opposite. It doesn't matter what your combat stats are! All players who enter will receive temporary maxed combat stats. These temporary stats DO NOT effect things such as achievements and player highscores UIM's items will be sent to the minigame coffer (via Jungle Master) upon entering, just like Kharazi! HCIMs DO NOT lose their hardcore status on death in this minigame Examples of good events (blessings & perks): Chest refill (gift): All chests on the map get refilled Perk orbs: These orbs can appear at random spots in the map, and do random things for the player that finds & claims it (boost damage, boost defence, etc.) Examples of bad events (curses): Hoarker ghouls: Ghouls appear for 30 seconds, freezing players that they hit. Swarms: Swarms appear for 30 seconds, dealing small rapid damage to players near them. They can't be attacked. Depending on how much people like this minigame, we may expand it in the future as a permanent addition to RuneX. Trick or Treating Ghouls are roaming the F2P world disguised as trick or treaters! Approach trick or treaters roaming the F2P areas and find out who's behind the costume! (Chance for the trick or treater to be a child, who will give you free event tokens) Cycle Activities Like all our previous events, cycle activites are still available to participate in! As explained above, this activity is also under a timed limit. We've also changed most of the activity token rates to accommodate for this much more valuable chest. Remember, this was 100% necessary for us if we wanted to make the chest more rewarding! NOTE: Due to gear / p2w advantage, tokens earned from cycle activities DO NOT count toward the PS5 contest! Event keys & task scrolls Like our previous (summer) event, chest keys and task scrolls are received as limited edition event keys/caskets Using these keys to open chests or opening these caskets grants you tokens, respective to the type! Haunted Spectre (boss) Join forces with the rest of the server to defeat this global event boss! NOTE: The boss will only visually display projectiles that are aimed at you and it will not show graphics/projectiles being shot at other players (this should hopefully greatly reduce FPS lag that some players experience when the boss is packed) Patch Notes: We were hoping to provide you all with MUCH more fixes & improvements, but a lot of the things included in this event unfortunately required a lot of work to implement into the RX server & client. Although to some of you who are familiar with the SPK update may feel that this was a lot of copy/pasting, that is far from the truth. Not only did majority of these features require dependencies that RX lacked, we've also been making great strides in improving the stability of our server's engine (in effort to reduce lag spikes) Nonetheless, we squeezed in a few things that were already addressed prior to this update's development. NEW Quality of Life (QoL) features: Enchantment chest QoLs The enchantment chest now has an animated progress bar on attempts We've also added a new "Attempt until successful" feature for enchantments that are a non-100% success rate. This will allow you to keep it auto-attempting until an enchantment is successful Rune coin price checker / price guide You can now search items in the rune coin price guide list! There is also now a new "rune coin price checker" which you can deposit items from your inventory to see their total rune coin value. The rune coin price checker will also give you an ESTIMATE of how much GP the items are worth based on a 250k gp/rc rate.
