  1. Elite Barrows You can now obtain "Elite barrows" scrolls from the Barrows minigame! Scrolls are obtained in bundles of 5, and very rarely a bundle of 25 This scroll operates very similar to a Nardah scroll, allowing you to bring 1 other person to do co-op runs! The fight is entirely instanced, and begins with a random Elite barrows brother that you must fight. After it dies, 2 more awaken. Once those 2 die, the last 3 spawn together Each "elite" version of the barrows brothers have difference mechanics Elite Dharok will recoil 10% of your damage back at you Elite Verac has a 1/6 chance to deal a smiting bleed damage special attack Elite Torag's defences increase as his health lowers Elite Karil has a special attack where he fires a shot that venoms you, and reduces your run energy Elite Guthan has a 1/6 chance to cast vengeance when attacking Elite Ahrim alternates between ice barrage & blood barrage spells Elite barrows rewards When fight ends a reward chest appears, with a 1/32 chance for it to be a rare chest (1/16 if you do not have a duo partner in your instance) Within these rare chests, you have a chance to find some new unique "corrupted" barrows weapons Wretched Dharok's axe Stronger stats with an effect that doubles boost of Dharok's set effect in PvM Defiled Verac's flail One tick faster attack speed & strong stats When wearing full verac armor set, has a 33% chance to cause bleed damage, dealing 5 damage per tick for 10 ticks (4 ticks in PvP) Corrupted Torag's hammers One tick faster attack speed & stronger stats Effect that increases strength bonus by 1/6 of your crush defence bonus Tainted Karil's crossbow Stronger stats, and an effect that increases ranged strength bonus by 1/4 of range attack Infested Guthan's spear Stronger stats, and an effect that allows you to heal up to 20% above your max HP (118/99, for example) Blighted Ahrim's staff Stronger stats, and an effect that completely ignores enemy magic level in magic defence calculations Elite Achievements There is a brand new set of achievements, especially for those end-game players who've seen & done it all! To unlock this set of achievements, you must have 200 achievements completed and pay 10,000 rune coins to King Percival at home. The achievements are divided in three tiers (novice/adept/master), with each tier having their own "completion reward" NOTE: "Elite achievement points" was something we added in case we wanted to introduce a separate point shop; there is no current use for them Some achievements are not retroactive (meaning if you completed it before this update, it's "caught up" and completed now), but some are. In addition, you can unlock the Elite completionist cape by having the original comp cape unlocked, and completing all elite achievements except for the 200M exp ones (we decided to cut Prime mode players a break!) The Elite completionist cape allows you to pick animated textures for your detailing, and also introduces new BiS cape stats! (+10% drop rate bonus included) Skilling Updates This update includes quite a few different improvements to our skilling system, including a brand new dungeon Cavern of Prosperity You must have a Skiller's Tome II or higher (including ancient tome) equipped in order to teleport here! Every single monster in this dungeon must be killed using various skilling methods! Some monsters have two different skilling methods you can attack them with (kill Tanglefoots by woodcutting with an axe, or farming with secateurs for example). The better your skiller's tome, and the better your respective skill level of that type, the more damage you'll deal. Each monster drops different pieces that can be combined to a Galvanic totem (similar to Dark totems), which can be used to fight the Galvanic Golem boss! This boss has some brand new unique drops, including.. Exalted butterfly net Gives a guaranteed 80% chance to catch implings Grants a 10% chance to double the impling's loot! Galvanic boots Acts as a "boots of stone" (brimstone dungeon) Provides infinite run energy Natural special attack regeneration rate increases by 50% Prevents being stunned by the Galvanic golem (one of his tedious mechanics) Galvanic pickaxe Highest tier pickaxe in Runex! Special attack costs 100% special energy, and boosts your mining level by 20% Galvanic pet Increases damage dealt in the Cavern of Prosperity by +33% for all skilling methods Fruit Tree Farming You can find saplings from different monster drops ("search item" drop tables in the info panel) or from the Farming supply box in the skilling point store. Each tree takes approximately 16 minutes to grow (can be reduced with things like magic secateurs, etc.). Planting trees also requires mandatory protection costs, which are often harvest vegetables/fruits from previous farming plants/trees. (Tree growth in the image below was sped up for demonstration) Bonfires / Firemaking You now have the ability to add logs to a new large bonfire at home, but it gives 10% less exp than manual lighting Firemaking now has a rare chance (slightly less rare manually burning logs vs. bonfires) to encounter Fire spirits Fire spirits have a rare chance to give random noted gems, charms, task bottles. They have a rare chance to give uncut onyx & uncut zenyte, or a Fire spirit pet (cosmetic, does not apply to the skilling pet collection log) Skilling Tasks The skilling task system is better than ever before! Increased coin reward per task from 2.5M to 10M Removed the requirement to bring back resources Streamlined the interface (similar to picking up / cancelling slayer tasks) Completing skilling tasks grant EXP for the skill type, scaled based on current level of that skill (capped at 25k exp) Lower the length / requirements of most skilling tasks Added rooftop agility course tasks Removed the onyx cutting task Other / Misc. Skilling Aerial fishing now available at Fishing Guild. Requires 75 fishing & hunter, and gives "mahi-mahi" that can be exchanged at the Fisherman npc. Rare chance to obtain crystal keys & sunken treasure caskets as well. Crystal saw Costs 20 skilling points, grants 5% construction exp boost Grants hidden +7 construction boost allowing you to build things +7 above your level Barbarian gold Gold nuggets from barbarian skilling methods, can be spent on Lamps, bag of tokens, prize boxes, point m boxes Lucky implings Very rare implings, gives task scroll caskets & grandmaster task bottles Dark graceful dye enchantment Requires 1x Blue, Red & Green dye, 250x Marks of grace Elixir of spright Gives +5% skilling exp &+25% skilling pet drop chance for 60 minutes 500 Marks of grace or rarely from Fire spirits / Sunken treasure caskets / Bird nests Tiaras Cost 20 skilling points each, gives 2x Runes of that type (stacks with rc cape & elemental gloves) Bird nests Added to woodcutting, gives dag rings, high tier seeds, bag of riches, task bottles Rare chance for grand crest pieces, VERY rare chance for ancient rings We've added a much better looking "make" interface for skilling across the board (except smelting bars, at the moment) Halloween Event 2021 The Halloween event is here, too! Note from the developers: This time around we're going with a new approach for events, rather than the typical F2P roaming monster hunting. Events have also unfortunately been a bit too rewarding, often times being detrimental to the economy & game balance, so we've toned that down slightly. Events will still be plenty rewarding, but we're pivoting from events being "get rich quick" moments. Instead, we want them to be as intended.. additional fun & festive content for the players to enjoy. It should be apparent that we are now focusing most of our dev. efforts on permanent content, rather than event content which gets wiped/deleted after 1-2 months. Cross-over theme (easter/h'ween) Due to RX not having an Easter Event (during our datacenter fire) there are some spooky Easter themes blended into this event. We've also brought back some old easter items in this event's coin shop, since they were missed out on! Frankenstein's Castle (mini-quest) You must help Dr. Frankenstein build his monster! Speak with the Grim Reaper at home to teleport to the castle and begin! This repeatable mini-quest requires you to do various skilling-related activities inside the mansion to help the doctor find six different body parts required to build a monster of his own creation, and bring it to life! You earn h'ween tokens throughout the mini-quest, and receive 2,500 tokens for completing it (completion reward ignores hourly caps) After completing it, you can repeat it for additional rewards! You also earn one-time rewards for repeating it 'x' amount of times Event activity scrolls After completing the mini-quest for the first time, you receive an Event activity scroll! You can use this scroll to unlock one of the following activities: Skilling (earn tokens from skilling tasks) Raids (earn tokens from raid completions & boss kills) Slayer (earn tokens from completing slayer tasks) Once unlocked / activated, you will (for the rest of the event) earn h'ween tokens from that activity. You can earn more scrolls from the mini-quest repeat system, or from the event coin shop! (This is similar to the "cycle activity" system, but it is constantly running once unlocked) A few notes to clarify: These scrolls are not tradeable These scrolls are wiped after events are over, so don't waste them by trying to save them for the next event! Unlocked activities will reset after events are over, so you'll have to unlock them again for winter, etc. "Challenge Mode" System You can purchase a Challenge Mode orb from Diango at Edgeville shops! Challenge mode enforces the following: Your damage dealt is decreased by -20% Curses prayers can not be used Elixirs can not be used Pets can not be used Equipment gear bonuses are capped at 200 Challenge mode grants the following: Drop rate increased by +35% Challenge points earned from kills (spendable at a shop) Required for an Elite achievement Unique tasks and rewards You can earn some rewards for certain challenge mode "completionist" tasks These tasks and rewards can be viewed when you open the challenge mode menu (clicking the orb) Wandering Merchant Changes Changes have been made to some Wandering Merchant tasks, and we've introduced some new unique rewards! Added some new item requirements across the board Golden mbox removed from wanderer's tasks Blood phoenix effect task fixed for wanderers (Was meant to be Frozen wyvern shield) Exotic mystery box & exotic mbox (u) added to shop Tradeable one is 750 tokens, (u) is 500 tokens & both have a limit of 2 per week. This special mystery box has an exclusive table of rewards that cannot be obtained from any other reward tables in the game. Also contains some very rare new unique rewards. Bonus replay scrolls (Exotic mbox reward) Resets your daily moneymaking tasks and rerolls your 2x moneymaking task Chaos luck tokens (Exotic mbox reward) Gives x1-4 drop rolls from PvM kills Ring of condensing (Exotic mbox reward) 70% chance to note resources gained from skilling while equipped Soothsayer pendant (Exotic mbox reward) Gives +15% drop rate bonus. Must be worn for 30 seconds before boost activates. Necromancer's tome (Exotic mbox reward) Boosts all pvm damage dealt by 33% when having a summoning familiar out. Boosts damage dealt by summoning familiars (including special attacks) by 50% Shadowrend sword (Exotic mbox reward) Has a 50% chance to deal 2x damage on hit. 15 second cooldowns between damage boost activations. Attack speed of weapon is +1 faster when using Accurate style. Damage of weapon is increased by 33% when using Aggressive style. Stormbearer fang (Exotic mbox reward) Attaches to trident of the seas to make Trident of the Storms Storms trident auto-casts a Lightning barrage spell (hits 3x3). Lightning deals 50% more damage to targets that were recently hit with a water spell (10 second threshold). Trident also has a special attack that summons a rain cloud, dealing high water damage to enemies. Afflictions Raids Luck When running 4+ afflictions raids, there is now a "bad luck protection" system that can help prevent large dry streaks You are guaranteed a purple after 20+ dry raids in a row for Expert You are guaranteed a purple after 15+ dry raids in a row for Master You are guaranteed a purple after 10+ dry raids in a row for Grandmaster This system has some limits, though! Just to clarify on a few IMPORTANT aspects.. Guarantees are counted separately for each mode (therefore you can't do 9 Expert raids then switch to GM for a guarantee, for example) Guarantees are counted separately for each raid type as well (you can't do 9 GM CoX and switch to ToB for a guarantee, for example) Getting a purple before your guarantee will reset the guarantee's counter for all difficulties of that raid type Gameplay changes, QoLs, Bug fixes Pet accessories now give 1/2 potency during the affliction raid Drop rates increased by +5% for non-affliction table rares when using 5 afflictions Rare drop rates for CoX improved in both normal and affliction raids Crestbearer (t) pieces created via platinum token shop (Cosmetic upgrade only) Fixed broken equipment set bonuses button on custom item guides interface PvP armor death degradation reduced to 250 charges per death for plankermans Promo coins have been added to currency pouch Ancient maces added to nardah sarcophagus uncommon table & added as a 1/10 chance from Sand mummy Reduced prices of some rewards in PvP training grounds & added Bag of tokens to reward shop Ornate armor added to Fancy storage in PoH Crystal key added to Rock crabs daily reward list 3x Point mbox added to Skilling task daily reward list Fixed a bug that calculated magic defence incorrectly and used the player's magic level instead of the enemy's magic level for calculations. This change will affect the way you fight high magic level opponents like King Lava Dragon for example, making them harder to defeat when using Magic. Bunyip summoning familiar - Scroll "Special" buffed to produce a manta ray instead of lobster Spirit terrorbird sumnmoning familiar - Scroll "Special" buffed to restore 50% run energy instead of 15% Giant wolpertinger summoning familiar - Scroll "Special" buffed to boost magic by same amount as Imbued heart Fire/ice/moss titan summoning familiar - Scroll "Special" healing cap increased to 27 hitpoints healed per usage instead of 17 hitpoints per usage Unicorn stallion summoning familiar - Scroll "Special" healing cap increased to 34 hitpoints instead of 12 Abyssal titan summoning familiar - Scroll "Special" newly added, now gives 10 pure essence on cast Lava titan summoning familiar - Passive effect gives secret mining level boost of +10, increasing mining speed Summoning familiar attack timer changed from 6 ticks (godsword speed) to 4 ticks (whip speed) Steel titan, rune minotaur & spirit phoenix summoning special attack max hits increased by +10 Vote exchange changes: Some prices slightly lowered & reward amounts slightly raised (Example: Gives 25 luck tokens instead of 15) Brimstone key rate formula is now 225 - NpcMaxHp (Previously formula for rate was 160 - NpcMaxHp / 3) This does not change the boost from scrolls or the minimum drop rate. All this will do is make higher hp npcs more profitable and less hp npcs less profitable. Cursed crypt reward amount increased from 3-4 per chest to 4-5 per chest Elixir packs added to Mystery shard shop for 350 shards ea, 2 in stock per week All gem loots from pickpocketing npcs slightly buffed Sacred titans can now drop between 1-3 sacred tokens instead of 1 Amethyst golems have had sacred tokens added to drop table alongside ancient shards.     Unfortunately, this is not a bug. Unnoted c-keys are not on the collection log since they're a more common loot. It's the 5x stack of c-keys (rare) that is counted as a collection. Sorry for the confusion!

    Patch Notes: Changed the rate of the summer donation box rewards (via Vacationers) from 1/100 to 1/250 Removed the mystery shard/unbound prize key messages Fixed NPC PJing in single wilderness zones Before, you could attack players who were in NPC combat even though they were in singles. Now, you can not. Note: Cursed Cavern is now similar to the "Singles+" mode - players can attack other players even if they're being attacked by an NPC (or the target is being attacked by one) Fixed an issue with DDS spec having an extra hit (after latest hotfix) Fixed an issue with Vorpal special attack having extra hits when comboing with other weapons like gmaul etc. Fixed an issue causing client lag depending on certain/amounts of items (in inventory, ground, etc.) Fixed an issue where you couldn't attack summer spirits in the mage arena Fixed an issue where summer essence (and other untradeable/autokeeps) get dropped on death if they are in the looting bag. Summer Event 2021 The RuneX Summer event is here, and will be running until August 20th, 2021 As many of you know, the summer event is the longest running event of the year, and we hope you all enjoy it! Vacationer Activity It's a hot summer, and RX is experiencing heat waves! There are "vacationers" roaming around F2P (Varrock, Falador, Lumbridge, etc.) and they need to be cooled off! Grab a soaker arm-cannon from the Nature Spirit at home and earn some rewards! You're guaranteed summer tokens from each vacationer you cool off There is an uncommon chance for Spirit essence which can be used to upgrade your soaker There is a rare chance for Summer mystery boxes Heatwave demon After cooling off a vacationer, you have a 1/100 chance to encounter a "Heatwave demon" If you have a Tier 2 soaker arm-cannon, that chance is boosted to 1/75 If you have a Tier 3 soaker arm-cannon, that chance is boosted to 1/50 This spirit is combative, and you must use your soaker to extinguish it! When it dies, it will drop some great rewards! Summer essence Vacationers, heatwave demons, wilderness event monsters, and even the event boss all have a chance to give you Summer essence Summer essence can be exchanged with the Nature Spirit at home to upgrade your event weapon (soaker arm-cannon) Once you reach the maxed (Tier 3) weapon upgrade, you then unlock the ability to purchase a Essence crusher The essence crusher can be used to convert your surplus essence into 250-500 tokens! Summer brawl Every 30 minutes, a brawl between two random NPCs will take place on the summer beach! 10 minutes before each brawl, players can bet either 500 or 2,500 tokens on which NPC they think will win After placing bets, players can sit on the beach to watch the fight, teleport elsewhere and wait for the results, or even go offline! Let us know if you guys have any good ideas for more brawlers -- current brawlers are: Wise old man Zanik Gnome child Drunken dwarf Mime Cheerleader Jester Leprechaun Once the fight is over, if the NPC you picked had won, you will receive 2X the tokens you wagered! As stated earlier, even if you're offline during the fight the tokens will be sent to your reward coffer for when you login Summer Spirits There are scorching hot "summer spirits" roaming around the deep wilderness! You must grab a super soaker arm-cannon from the spirit hunter at home in order to cool these spirits off until they vanish! Players are required to have at least 126 combat level in order to attack them Summer spirits come in three different variants: Common (yellow) Uncommon (blue) Rare (green) If you carry a blood orb with you, you have a chance to encounter a Superior summer spirit (purple) Superior summer spirits have the best drop tables, and also have rare drops similar to superior blood revenants The better your blood orb, the better your chance to encounter a superior spirit will be! Other activities As per usual, this event also includes the following activities: Cycle activities Event world boss Event keys & task scrolls Money making tasks Event fixes & improvements Compared to the last event (Winter 2020) we've made the following changes: Changed raids cycle activity from 2 hours to 1 hour Fixed an issue where event lava keys wouldn't count for the Cursed Crypt collection log Fixed an issue where event crystal key alching wouldn't count for task scroll requirements Crack the Clue (event) Special thanks to James and Kong for putting this event together! Your reward will be delivered personally by James Rewards are from the following items: Content updates PvP Training Grounds The PvP training grounds has been moved to the Tzhaar Fight Pits, and in an area that has a multi-zone and single-zone The multi-zone cross point is indicated with a red line on the ground halfway through the pit You now receive 50 training points per kill which can be spent at a new PvP Training Ground shop There is a daily limit of 500 points per day (10 kills) NOTE: You do lose blood money in this zone, so be cautious! Gravity ballista This new weapon is a 100% chance enchantment with the following ingredients: 1x Heavy ballista 1x Light ballista 1x Imbuing stone 25x Infernal elixirs 25x Sacred tokens The weapon has upgraded stats from the heavy ballista counterpart This weapon also fires much faster than other ballistas in PvM combat making it a powerhouse that rivals to the Scorpia blowpipe Ultimate phoenix pet This new pet is the first ever "fused" epic pet! It's a 100% chance enchantment with the following ingredients: 1x Hydro phoenix pet 1x Blood phoenix pet 1x Shadow phoenix pet 1x Pet mystery box 100,000x Rune coins The ultimate phoenix pet has the combined effects of all three phoenix pets In addition, it also gives a +5% magic damage effect Gameplay changes / QoLs Added a new collection log for ancient urns Blood ghrazi rapier now deals +10% damage while in PvM Added an ::untrack command has been added to turn off task tracker. This command works for any task. Magic formula changes were super helpful for PvP so the same ones were applied to Melee & Ranged PvP as well. PvP should feel more balanced & a bit more tame overall. OP Customs should feel like they're brought back down to earth. Crossbow bolt damage is now uncapped in PvM Zenyte bolts (e) bolt spec now deals +25% damage more in PvM on proc Crossbow bolt damage cap max hits reduced by 10 in PvP. (Previous highest max bolt hit was 78, now it is 68) Slayer teleport scrolls have been added to the Master scroll book Fixed an issue where a lot of special attacks would surpass their PvP damage caps Fixed an issue with certain specs were capped in PvM unintentionally. This affects a wide array of items from Godswords, Dragon claws, Abyssal dagger, etc to Ballistas, Zamorak bows, Cursed cannons and more. You should see much higher hits from your special attacks when using high tier gear in PvM now. Dragon claw special attack has received an accuracy buff Korasi special attack has received an accuracy buff Brimstone chest now sends items to the bank (instead of the ground) when your inventory is full Added a Nurse to the Nightmare lobby Added Abbyssal sire to slayer boss tasks Due to excessive farming, voting now requires at least 20+ achievements completed Due to excessive farming, c-logs and achievements now give an untradeable variant of the Minigame mystery box Added the following items to the POH storage: Ornate armor Myth cape / Myth cape (i) Ale of the Gods Black d'hide coifs are now notable.
